There is an existing shortcut to switch between Group and Layer - use " . " . If you hover over the Group/Layer dropdown, the tooltip mentions the shortcut.

Hi Photoshop Beta Testers! We are so excited to announce the availabity of a new Gradients Context Bar. Let us know what you think or you run into problems!
To test out the Gradients Context Bar, make sure you have Context Bars enabled (Window > Contextual Task Bar or right click on canvas areas > Show Contextual Task Bar).
Select the Gradient Tool and make sure you have "Gradient" selected in the Gradients Options Bar:
With the Gradient Tool selected, click and drag to create a gradient. A new Gradient Adjustment Layer will be created, a Gradients Contextual Task Bar is shown.

@subdes901 would it be possible for you to provide a test file and/or short video of your workflow and email it to durocher@adobe.com? I would like to write a ticket for our backlog but need very specific steps to reproduce the problem and investigate other workflows which could be affected and/or need to be updated to the desired functionality.

@subdes901 Question about your workflow, are you doing a copy in Illustrator --> in Photoshop Paste As > Smart Object or Layers? If neither, can you write down your specific workflow?

I am also curious when the Context Bar does not pin and specific scenarios when it get's in your way...
Also FYI, you can get to the Generate functionality (GenFill) when you have a selection > Edit > Generative Fill, so you don't need the Contextual Task Bar open to get to that feature.

Hi Photoshop Beta friends!
We have introduced In-App Notifications for Photoshop Desktop. These Sharing notifications will help eliminate the reliance on email notifications or switching to the Creative Cloud app to view notifications or take action on them. Currently, we have started with notifications for Sharing and commenting workflows Invite to View, Invite to Edit, Commenting, and Manage Access.
You can access the notification panel by clicking on the 'Bell' icon on the top right corner of the application bar.
To receive notifications, you will first need to Share your file for review, via the Share button. An assets.adobe.com link will be created. Then you can invite people to view the file in the same Share dialog.
If the person you have invited has accepted the invitation and opens the file in assets.adobe.com and comments. The person who shared the file will see the Bell icon “light up” with a blue dot to indicate a new notification. The notification icon will display up to 9+.
Press and hold the Bell icon to view the notifications available for review or action. Depending on the notification, selecting the notification in the dropdown menu will open the file on assets.adobe.com. You can dismiss notifications and/or mark them as read or unread.
You can also interact with comments and review feedback in the Comments panel.

If you have Preset Syncing* turned ON in Preferences > General, please read on:
*Preset Syncing is used to sync Brushes, Swatches, Gradients, Patterns, Shapes, and Styles across devices.
The Photoshop team has decided to end development and support for preset syncing. The end of life of Preset Sync for the Public Beta program will take place with this week's Photoshop Beta build, Thursday, July 27, 2023.
Below are recommended actions to perform before installing the Photoshop July 27th Beta build.
Currently, when Preset Sync is ENABLED via Photoshop preferences, your presets are saved to your assets.adobe.com account and are ALSO saved to your local disc every time Photoshop is closed.
The steps below will guide you through how to:
Save your presets locally
Turn preset sync OFF on each desktop system
Remove the presets from assets.adobe.com
1. Confirm internet access for all computers where preset syncing is turned ON.
2. Quit Photoshop on all systems with preset sync enabled.
3. Back up your presets:
Copy the following preset files from the “Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings” folder to a safe location: Brushes.psp, CustomShapes.psp, Gradients.psp, Patterns.psp, Styles.psp, Swatches.psp.
MAC: /Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings
Win10: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop (Beta)\Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings
4. Launch Photoshop, and go to: Preferences > General. Uncheck Preset Syncing to turn OFF. Click OK to close the Preferences dialog.
6. When asked if you want to keep the presets in the cloud, choose No <= this action will remove the presets from your online assets and free up space.
6. Quit Photoshop
7. Relaunch Photoshop
Repeat steps 3-6 on every desktop system where preset sync is turned ON.
When launching Photoshop in step 6, the Preset panels will use the latest local presets stored on your local hard drive. The Preset Syncing preference will be unchecked.
After installing this week’s Beta build, Preset Syncing preference will be removed from the Preferences > General panel.
If Preset Syncing was not turned OFF before installing July 27th Beta build:
1. When launching Photoshop, the preset panels will use the latest local presets stored on your hard drive when Photoshop was last quit.
2. The Preset Sync preference is removed from the Preferences > General panel. 3. The synced presets will remain in assets.adobe.com.
4. In the coming weeks we will provide access to remove the presets from your cloud storage via a web browser.

Hi Andrew,
Adobe will continue to support OpenType TT and OpenType PS fonts. Technically, the two formats are OpenType TTF and OpenType CFF. See this link for more details https://community.adobe.com/t5/adobe-fonts-discussions/opentype-ps-fonts-are-identified-as-type-1-fonts-when-saving-indesign-files-to-pdf/td-p/11852099.
Non-OpenType TrueType fonts will still be supported by Adobe. OpenType TT includes extensions to the TrueType font format and both formats are currently supported by Adobe.
The Adobe legacy Type 1 font format is the one that is being deprecated. In the font menu, these will normally appear with a red 'a' as the Type icon. Here is the link to the announcement: https://helpx.adobe.com/fonts/kb/postscript-type-1-fonts-end-of-support.html.
I hope this answers your questions. Thank you for your continued support of Adobe and our products.

Dang, I am so sorry about the confusion about Live Gaussian Blur Beta vs the 24.0 release.
The only way I know of changing file type association is going to the Mac Finder, selecting the File, then File > Get Info --> changing the "Open with" setting. Can you confirm that method was tried and not working?
