Being so caught up with creating descriptions/titles for my assets and then adding relevant keywords, I had totally neglected to think about how my assets are displayed by Google. After trying to limit my descriptions/titles to 70 characters, I found it to be very difficult, and more often than not I went over the 70 character mark - more like 140 characters plus or minus per asset. Now I can adjust my focus when writing descriptions/titles, and not get so caught up in trying to limit myself to just 70 characters. Thank you.

Yes, the examples are only examples kept short to simplify my question. After rereading Adobe's tips for description/title and keywork writing, I have found a few things I need to change. First off, they say descriptions/titles should be limited to 70 characters or fewer to help customers find content in searches. Additionally, they suggest not to use formal sentence structures when creating titles. I've been using formal sentences that usually go to the 200 word mark, so I think I need to change this. Secondly, I thought the words in the descriptions/titles were searchable, so sometimes I omitted them from my keywords thinking it would make the asset more searchable. I see now this also needs changing.

Thank you. One thing that I find makes the keywording process a bit cumbersome is the fact that Adobe states the order matters. Thus, I find myself spending more time than is perhaps necessary to decide keywords 1 - 7.

Thank you. That is good to hear. I find writing descriptions and keywording to be very time consuming. Streamlining the process simplifies things greatly!

Two questions - 1) do contributors often contribute to multiple site? 2) If yes, is it a good idea to write a unique description for each site you upload your image/assets to? For example, let's say I have a picture of a bulldog and I upload it to three different sites. Is it best to ... A) be unique? Black bulldog with white spots. White spotted black bulldog. A bulldog's black fur has white spots. ... or ... B) use the same description across all three sites? Black bulldog with white spots.

Thank you. That is good to know as sometimes I find I get caught up in deciding which category to assign.

I recently submitted two images of the same subject matter, but photographed in different orientations. One was a vertical shot to emphasize the background architecture, directing attention away from a foreground of vivid yellow gingko leaves. The other was a horizontal shot to place emphasis on the foreground's vivid yellow gingko leaves. So my question is, when you submit two images of the same subject matter, is it best to submit them both to the same category? Or is this a decision that revolves more around purpose? I ended up submitting both as Landscapes. However, my initial thought was Travel for the horizontal/architecture( Japanese ), and Landscape for vertical/gingko leaves. My reasoning was, I thought they might not appear together if the were listed in different categories.

Thank you for the tip! Promptly, gave it a try with one of my asset IDs. Embarrassingly, while I recently realized that each approved asset has a unique File ID attached to it and that I should be cataloging these IDs, the thought that they could be used as a search tool never came to mind.

When I submit/upload images for review, I use file names that are assigned by the device that has taken the photograph inorder to organize my data. For example, IMG_8973.jpg I understand that giving an image a relevant title with supporting keywords is important, to help users find content and obtain good search engine results. Is it also important to give a file a name that reflects the files content?

Thank you for responding. I looked over the property release, but thought it strange that I had to release my work to myself. Will give it another try. Thanks again.

How do I submit images of personal wood craving without getting a INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY REFUSAL? Do I need to attach a release?
