Pressing Enter in 'Select and Mask' mode after freezing closes the tool and creates a new layer with mask, but the issue persists. By 'freezing' I mean the displayed image in the main window is stuck in one state, you can still interact with controls in Photoshop but it has no affect on the image. Trying to open other images results in just blank space being displayed in the main window.

Thank you for looking into this. Here is my system info. But it's not limited to my computer, I tried it on multiple Apple devices and this issue occurs on all of them. I have also attached a screen recording to the original message. Basically, photoshop freezes every time when you try to subtract a very small portion of the selection. You might need a few tries, but I'm sure you'll be able to reproduce it too.

Description: Photoshop becomes unresponsive after using Subtractive Lasso in 'Select and Mask' tool. Reproduced on: MacBook Pro (M2 Pro, 16GB), Mac Mini (M4, 24GB), MacBook Air (M3, 16GB), MacBook Pro (M3, 8GB). Steps to reproduce: Open any image in Photoshop and choose any select tool. Go to 'Select and Mask...' and switch to Object Selection Tool (W). Choose 'Mode: Lasso'. Select a section of the image with a regular lasso. Switch to 'Subtract from selection' mode (or hold Option button) and try to subtract a small portion of the selection. Observe the result. Actual result: Photoshop becomes unresponsive. Closing 'Select and Mask' tool leads to the image being stuck in one state, you can't open other images and do anything. The only solution is to Quit Photoshop. Desired result: Photoshop doesn't get stuck. Or at least after clicking 'Cancel' in 'Select and Mask' it actually closes this mode and allows further editing.
