I'm all with practicality. My moto is: if you can do it in lumetri (Based on a bunch of situations and consitions), don't do it in resolve. Which rsembles my other mote: If you can do it in essential graphics, don't go to AE. And if absolutely need to go to AE, template it as a mogrt and avoid dynamic link at all costs. I think, and I hope I will be heard: Lumetri is great a starting point as a tool and it has potential, but for it to expand it needs to somewhat detach from Premiere and be thought of as a stand alone tool which can be integrated within both premiere and AE workflows. Even the name is cool, don't just drop it. I really hope it is given a bit more attention than is given to rush and elements.

@Kevin-Monahan Im really hoping what i type will make sense. I was able to repro the issue but with different behavior: using the same color values of @cari-f with the right square selected, I hovered the picker around on the left colored square, and i noticed the color value changing from pixel to pixel (variation of 2 values). however, when i had the right square selected and hovered the picker around the right square itself, the color will slowly and gradually change to evantually reach black. In other words: if we have on color and we color pick itself, it will go slightly darker everytime I suspect what is happening with Cari which is the bug, is when taking the color picker to the right square, it passes the left one resulting in slightly darker value and actually locking it there Continued testing: very weird behaviour with the color picker regardless of the color Tried fixing the issue: no success

We are indeed respectfully disagreeing. I genuinly consider you a Legend 🙂 Its not only about how you work with it, but what it can produce. I am an award-winning director who preaches Lumetri, and still do. Trust me I only bash it as friendly fire, would never give the enemy that satisfaction. lol But sir, trust me, im running out of arguments with 1 year old graders and 10 year old graders. im losing the war here. And frankly, although im insisting that lumetri is great, top-notch graders with the best control surfaces would laugh at me when i mention lumetri

There is no issue here, this is normal behaviour. you see when changing the opacity to 50% of your ghost, its not only your ghost that is semi-transparent, but the entire room, causing the people lower layer to only be 50% visible as well. There are 3 ways to approach this: 1- when filming all your elements, including people should be present in both plate and ghost shots. only variable between 2 shots should be the ghost. 2- The above might prove tricky since it will be difficult to have people stay the same way. Masking and/or rotoscoping your ghost is the way to go. 3- Try to play around with opacity modes. 4- (Bonus) if it was me, I would do both masking and opacity mode on the ghost. should give a pretty interesting look

you can always try to give the graded clips a prefix or suffix, place them in a folder, offline all your files that are on the sequence and then try to link the graded files. @R Neil Haugen with all due respect Legend, Adobe is not still up there when it comes to colring compared to resolve and baselight. In my opinion, Adobe is excelling in optimizing its eco-system but falling behind in coloring and the forward thinking of venturing into hardware... like camera systems and lenses.
