Same. If I do a 'save and close' on document in PS and want to do something in Bridge for instance, PS comes to the front when the document closes. Bloody annoying.

This bug also is still around in the 25.6.0 release: Group with a garbled layer mask Only affects the appearance on screen. Not the actual file. At 100% view, the image is okay.

As the title says: I tried to transform a layer to straighten an object, so I drew a few guides. Then, when I hit Cmd+T, nothing happens. Edit > transform is grayed out as well. When I hit Cmd+H to hide the guys, Transform works as expected. Once in 'Transform' (handles visible) I can hit Cmd+H again to see the guides and everything works as it should. Edit: Hmm. Cmd+; to toggle visibility of the guides does NOT have the same effect. If I hit Cmd+H (to hide the guides), then Cmd+; to make them visible again, transform DOES work. If I then hit Cmd+H again, nothing seems to happen (the guides shoud toggle off again I'd say, but they don't), but again Transform won't start. Edit2: Seems that the issue was that I also had an (empty) path in the Paths window that was highlighted, so apparently PS thought I was trying to transform that? Unticking this solved it: Show > Extra's > Target Path No idea if this is a new option? Not a big issue, but annoying, and I don't understand what's happening. OSX 12.6.8. PS CC 25.4.0

Okay. This worked for me as well. And it seems consistent & repeatable. Closed PS, closed bridge, opened .psd in PS, render worked. Closed PS again, started Bridge, opened .psd in PS, render didn't work. Closed Bridge (not PS), opened .psd in PS, render didn't work. Closed PS and Bridge, opened .psd in PS, render works. Closed file, opened Bridge, re-opened .psd in PS, render still works. At least Adobe now knows where to look for the bug. :')

The issue is still appearing occasionally in PS CC 25.4.0. Doesn't actually seem to affect the mask, it only displays garbled, depending on zoom level. But makes it necessary to close and reopen the file to be able to see what you're working on. Annoying. Screencast: screencast Screenshot: layer mask seems garbled. Might be the same thing I ran across: When I try to fill a selection on an alpha channel, this only works if I have a layer highlighted in the layers palette, otherwise I get a program error. Comparison: No layer selected in the layers panel -> program error Layer selected in the Layers panel -> works as it should Mac Studio, OSX 12.6.8, PS 2024 25.3.1

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried starting Photoshop without third party plugins and it still wouldn't render. Anyways, if I'd have to restart photoshop every time I want to render a video, I might just as well start PS 2021 to render the video. Then I can get some work done in PS 2024 while the video is rendering time as well 🙂

That doesn't help. Deleted all 'Adobe' keychain items and restarted PS, logged in again and it's still stuck at the end of "initializing Video Esport'. Photoshop 25.2.0 on OSX 12.6.8 PS 22.5.8 does work as expected, but it's annoying to have to run two versions of PS to get the job done.

When I press Cmd+I to view metadata of a file in Bridge, it reverts to the 'Basic' panel every single time. In the previous version of Bridge, once I switched to the 'Origin' panel, it stayed stuck on 'Origin', also for the next files. Now it reverts to the 'Basic' view every time. Not a critical bug, but annoying if I need to see the Origin data for several files. (Yes, I know I can hit Cmd+o after I've hit Cmd+i) Mac OSX 12.6.8 Bridge 2024 (14.0)

PS 24.7.0 When I try to render a video, I get an "initializing video" progress which takes about 30 seconds and then gets stuck at the end (> minutes, then I quit) I've had this in some other versions, seems the same bug is back again. If I Option drag a clipped layer to the bottom of the layer palette (to duplicate it), I get this:
I cannot unclip it, since ther's nothing it's clipped to. Also I cannot change blend modes (you can see they are greyed out).
If I cmd+click on the "new layer" icon, I get a new empty layer at the bottom, and "layer 2" is now clipped to that and all is 'normal' again (second screenshot is after I restarted PS, and made the document again. So it shoud be pretty repeatable).

Ah, yes. I see what you're saying. I think I remember text layers also all ending up in the center regardless of their position relative to each other before aligning, or the layer 'selected for aligning'. I'd have expexted PS to align *only* the selected (highlighted, not 'marching ants') layer, and to just 'drag along everyting that's linked to it'. So If I were to select all layers, thén align to center, the bahaviour would be logical (to me) Hmm. I see what it's doing now. Can't believe I never noticed before. Kinda makes aligning useless (to me) in most cases, but good to be aware of nevertheless.

Two issues, maybe related. First: I had two layers I linked, and when I nudged one, the other didn't move. However, this issue was gone after I restarted Photoshop, so I couldn't screencast it. The second issue remained: I first ran into it when I drag/ dropped a few masked adjustment layers from one image to the next. They didn't line up nicely since the images had slightly different dimensions. So I wanted to align them to the center (seemed easiest, since one of the adjsutments was a curve for adding vignette). This also aligned all other masks to the center, which it should *not* have. I made an example screencast of the issue using a simple document: I first move the linked layers and the masks are moving along as they should, then I align to center and it goes to pot (I think this is a bug and both masks should end up in the same position, as they were before). https://www.dropbox.com/s/dxpfee73jyy976b/PS%20link%20and%20align.mp4?dl=0 PS 24.1.1 on Mac OSX 12.6.1, MacStudio.

Oh, and I tested; this glitch also happens when "Deactivate native canvas" is ticked and "Enable native canvas rulers" is not. (Weird that it says that the former should be unticked to activate the latter, but it's possible to tick both without a warning)

Reporting back. Setting "Deactivate Native Canvas" causes other glitches. When I open a document it sometimes shows as entirely filled with black, until I toggle a layer visibility. Then the image shows. When I opened multiple images, the first previews shows garbage, made up of those images. Again, toggling visibility of a layer fixed this, but it's not really workable. @Kevin Stohlmeyer I'd guess my MacPro did meet system requirements for PS when I ran first into this (or similar) bug. Photoshop CS6 in july 2014 (I might have posted a screencast then). Then again, maybe I was still using my older MacPro at the time. Anyhow. I meant to convey "this certainly isn't a new bug". My prefs are now thus, after restart of PS. I'l report back.

I run into this occasionally. As long as I notice it, it's not a huge deal, since it's fixable. When it slips through, it messes up the end result though.
Not sure what triggers it, but occasionally a layer mask get's "random".
I think the video below clearly shows it: in the layers panel, you see the layer mask weirdness happening, and in the end of the video, you can see that a simple brush stroke in the mask fixes it (suggesting that the correct mask info is there, somewhere under the hood).
