Interesting. So I don't have the app, I always access Express on the Web. I'm missing Libraries in Express - so I'm sure that is where the problem is. Here are screenshots - the white is Express online, the black is my Creative Cloud app - you can see There are 3 libraries missing. And then, there is the online Creative Cloud screenshot - showing 2 libraries that are missing in Express are labeled as BRAND, not Library - I have no idea how that all works I obviously created them in Express but why aren't they just a library?

My Libraries work just fine - except they are weird in Express. I don't really use Express, I was playing in there and for some reason couldn't access a library, so I made a new one in Express, then I had multiple libraries that were basically the same. I finally gave up but ever since, my Creative Cloud has this error message. I've tried everything, I've read all the solutions, tried them all, it won't fix itself. The second screnshot shows the suspicious libraries - What is that project - that must be from Express, right?

Elliminating LRC from the equation helps.
There is an option in LR to save copies locally so it's possible you had 30K uploaded in the cloud and copies on your hard drive as well, seperate files.
They were trying to the sync the photos through the browser? what the what... yeah, I think this is where everything went wrong. Do you know how many files you had in the cloud before they started this process?
100GB isn't much space and 30K images could easily take up 150GB. I have 22K files in the cloud and I'm using over 351GB of space. So I don't think they were all in the cloud to begin with. How they were trying to sync them is beyond me.
Sounds like those 2 turkeys deleted your images from your external drive. You might try and get the repair guy to pay to try and recover the external drive.

You can edit the images from your external on your iPad, the issue is that those images are uploaded to the cloud and the edits are not saved to the images on the HD but to the images in the cloud. This is a feature I and many others would like to see - to be able to edit the images on the HD itself on the iPad. I've added it to an existing feature request. I had a student I helped with this same exact workflow last week.
I recommend you upload your images to LR. I use my phone and LR on my phone set to automatically import all images from my camera roll. Get the images uploaded to the cloud, do your edits on the iPad and then you simply sync to LR Classic. When you sync, the originals are downloaded to your preferred location. Some will stay in the cloud, some will be just the smart previews - it's based on how much space you have in the cloud - smart previews don't count against you. But, you will see all originals downloaded. You set up where they download in the LRC preferences. I have mine sorted by decades so I only need to update the location every 10 years.

I would like to be able to edit images from my external HD on my iPad WITHOUT having to import them / upload to the cloud. I want the edits to write to the hard drive, the same way it works on the Desktop. There are others in the community that have expressed this, I have private students that would like this as well. It would be great if there was a local tab to make it super simple.

First - were you accessing your images in the cloud or locally? It sounds like you were accessing locally...
Have you checked lightroom.adobe.com - what's there?
So - you stored originals on external - were you actually accessing them on the external through local in LR?? You plugged in your external to your new computer - but the files were missing - the ones in the cloud or on the external? the photos aren't actually in the app - they are either in the cloud or on your external drive - so it shouldn't have made any difference from which device you were using. Are you sure you didn't log into a different Adobe account?
How were they syncing the photos - why were they syncing photos? Were you using LRC and LR together??

Is this on your computer? I would just quit and restart. Maybe go to Lightroom.adobe.com and check on your images, then start it back up again. I get that message all the time, usually after an update but it only takes a couple minutes.

There are lots of Youtube Videos you can watch to answer many questions.
The editing abilities of LRC and LR are identical.
If you want to continue to use LRC, I recommend you place your images into collections and share them with LR. Smart previews are uploaded to LR so you can edit them on your ipad. When you sync them, the edits are then applied to the images on your hard drive in LRC. On the left side of your collection there is a little box, if you click it - it will change to a little symbol that means those photos are now shared with LR.
LR doesn't have a catalogs. The images live in the cloud. They could be the actual image or just a smart preview, depends on how you got the images into LR. I use my phone for most of my images and share some catalogs from LRC. LR on the computer also now allows you to view images locally, so you can view the images stored on your computer / external drive.
I'm sure my answers brought up more questions. Just give it a try - watch some youtube videos. Sharing a catalog with LR from LRC won't hurt anything.

It looks like a trasparent brush. Set your brush transparency in the options bar. You can also create the brush to fade out in the brushes panel.

I guess it depends on how you have your screen set up. It doesn't bother me and I never noticed it before. If you have your properties panel open all the time and large enough, you shouldn't have to scroll at all.

I would up the Hard drive to 1 TB. I dont' store much on my mac and have about 400GB free on my 1TB drive. You don't want to work with a full hard drive and you don't want to have to keep moving things around. My Mac is a 2019 with 32GB ram and still going strong. I replaced my 2012 iMac with it in 2020.

What do you mean the toolbar isn't working? Are you not able to choose a tool? Can you share a screenshot and be more precise with the problem? Also, try resetting the preferences to see if that fixes it.

If you do a batch from Bridge you can choose where you want to save the images. In Bridge, go to Tools, Photoshop and choose Batch.

Just double click on the layer icon in the layers panel and it will open your smart object and you can edit it. Just save and close and it will be updated in your current document.

I see what you are talking about now. When you drag the layer if it's visible, the image in the layer disappears on the canvas while you decide to create a new layer or throw the layer away, temporarily hiding it until you choose. Yes, it's doing this on my Mac too. I don't see an issue with the behavior but I normally use a keyboard shortcut to duplicate.

What file type are you sending to your printer? If it's a PSD file, you should just rasterize the layer. You can't convert to outlines in PS - that happens in Illustrator and InDesign. Text isn't great to print from Photoshop, you should consider using Illustrator or InDesign for documents with text.
