Thanks for your reply, but what makes you think it is a workspace issue? Past 15 years, the usage of additional monitors or having panels open across more than one screen were rather introducing new bugs, than solving any. That's why I used a standard workspace and even closed most of the panels. I just recreated the bug with all displays turned off except for one. What else should I do? As you can see if you followed the thread, this behaviour is repeatable on other machines. — I hope for betterment in an upcoming release.

UPDATE: I was able to reproduce the bug in a fast manner. Since I can't attach videos to responses, I've uploaded them to frame.io: https://f.io/MSJJ05la (scroll down to see all). Here's what's happened: Video 1 – No FX panel. 4K50p with multiple lumetri effects, playing absolutely smoothly (!) Video 2 – Having opened the FX panel: Still no issues. Notice how towards the end, as soon as I begin switching the selection the lag fest begins... Video 3 – FX panel still open, «Selection Follows Playhead» activated: The issue gets very apparent, because lots of switching selections. Video 4 – FX panel closed, «Selection Follows Playhead» activated: Total fluidity. Video 5 – Offline media (this one is for you @Trent Happel) Total bog 💀 Video 6 – Offline media, but closed FX panel: Total bliss again :sparkles: Hope this helps to catch the bug. Again thanks for the replies Trent and Kevin. After having felt neglected for so long, there may be a caring team aboard Premiere again.

Thank you all for your replies. First of all – I feel respected as a customer 🙏 Please let your stakeholders know this! Secondly, a restart of Premiere mitigates the issue. It's only after fifteen-something minutes that the slow is beginning. That's why it's a bit hard to reproduce it. However I will try to hunt it down while editing. Hey Ann, thanks for responding. As I tried to bring across, there's no issue with either playback, nor manipulating effect settings, as long as I don't switch my selection to another clip. The red bar is an estimation about wether my system can playback in realtime. However, I got no issue with playback. Maybe that wasn't clear in the above post.

When doing color grading using several stacked lumetri effects, clip selection update speed bogs down towards zero. It's quite the pain! This has been persisting, and I could track the issue down towards the Effects Controls panel being open or not. I've attached two screen recordings for comparison. Note how in the second clip the mouse can't drag the CTI, nor does the Effect Controls panel react to new inputs. After a few (increasingly sorrowful) seconds, everything jumps back into place and I can edit very FLUIDLY as long as I don't switch clips. This has been going on for a while now, and it's really hindering my performance. It's like going full throttle and press the brakes at the same time. PP 24.5.0 Build 57, Win10 x64 (22H2), AMD Ryzen 1950X, 64 GB RAM, NVIDIA 3090, all M.2 NVME drives, with caching/projects on separate disks.

You'll never guess this one: Closing the effects control panel did the magic trick 😂 Everything is back to fluid/as expected! All timeline features (Show xy...), 4K timeline, multiple Lumetri FX stacked, Chromakey. Even a bazillion of open panels: scopes, infamous track mixer, essential panels, text editing. Yay, I guess?

Hi Heiko, here's what worked for me: - Have 4K video footage in a 4K timeline - Have FHD dynamic link AE motion graphics - Set clips in time line to be "Scaled to Frame Size" and not set it to framesize (=200%) - I got proper scaling this time. Hope this helps.

I appreciate your response Averdahl. This occured to me when exporting DNxHR, where the option ain't available. So I learned that MXF's cannot contain info about muxing stereo streams, thus requiring playback software to do the job. There's always something to learn........

Thanks for asking. GD is on auto-update, while I'm kind of shy with updating production software, so AE is on 24.2.1 (Build 2). Still happening. Closing all file explorer windows will resolve the issue and allows me to start the app without any hickups 🤷

I got Google Drive running upon system boot. When attempting to start AE, it goes straight into a perma-freeze. After quitting the GD app, AE can be started without a hickup. After AE started, GD can be started and used again without issues whatsoever. This is repeatable and a bit unfortunate since I'm using Google Drive all the time for my work. 🙄 It's been happening since about half a year now, persisting over several app iterations by both companies. Specs: Win 10 Pro, 22H2, build 19045.3393 – Google Drive 80.0.1.0 – RTX 3090 at driver 536.23

You could install the webm plugin from fnordware. It's enabling AME to export WEBMs with transparency. It also allows playback of WEBMs within AE and Premiere, altough it doesn't read the transparency channel there.

After eating some crayons I am now back in the app. Here's what I did: Logged out of CC Killed each and every findable Adobe task in the task manager Cleared all old working spaces Deleted everything in %temp% Logged back into CC Success PS: I don't know why, but removing all plugins from the media core didn't change anything. No crash was recorded in the new 'effects manager'. PPS: Since I don't seem to be able to delete a post here, this is staying up, hoping it might help someone else.

As title says. I'm on Win10x64, current NVIDIA driver (RTX 3090). Immediately after presenting the interface the app goes becomes grayed out, and the cursor turns into a wheel of doom. Safe mode worked once. Cleared Cache, checked plugin manager (no plugin crashes recorded.) Next start, back to square one. Starup doesn't complete, full freeze like before. Other Adobe apps load perfectly Restart did nothing Deleting old workspaces did nothing Bot AE 23 and 22 show the same effed up behaviour This is repeatable, I can't get into the app. Speechless, as I'm not able to even begin working. What a letdown. Been using AE since 15 years now 😡
