@Kukurykus this new app, Photoshop (Beta), is available to any Creative Cloud customer. Those who have been selected for the Prerelease program and signed an NDA will have certain capabilities "unlocked" within this same app.
Our vision is that any customer can use Photoshop (Beta) to get up-to-the-minute access to bugs and certain features, while other features will be restricted only to those who have signed an NDA and are part of the Prerelease program.

*Samuel Cody Sorry this has been frustrating. It is not an easy thing to change in Photoshop.
Per my previous comment, I think there is an existing solution to the problem. If you use the Pen Tool instead of the Polygonal Lasso Tool, you can Undo each point, save the path for later, and also feather the selection if desired. I think it gives you all the functionality you want, and more, but I would love to understand if there is something about the Pen Tool that won't work in this scenario.
Instructions:
Select the Pen Tool
Click to create your path (you can use CMD-Z to undo the creation of any point)
Once you have created your path, press the "Make: Selection" button in the Tool Options bar
A dialog appears asking if you want to feather the selection
Let me know if this solves your problem.

We just released Photoshop on iPad 1.0 in the iOS app store, available as part of most existing Photoshop subscriptions. Unlike previous Photoshop apps, this app is built with the same codebase as Photoshop on macOS and Windows. It does not have every feature of Photoshop desktop, but we will be adding more and more features very quickly.

Why not just use the Pen Tool and convert your path to a selection? That way you can preserve the history, come back at any time, as well as feather the selection.

Allowing a user to arbitrarily change the preview text would potentially slow Photoshop down considerably, because we would need to re-render that text in every font on your machine. Do you have a suggestion for a better default word? Also, are you familiar with the instant font preview we added in June 2014? With a type layer selected, you can scroll through you list of fonts and the on-canvas preview changes in real-time. This allows you to "try out" a number of different fonts with your own text, and in the context of your document.
