You know that the product is in maintenance mode, and apart from security fixes it is not being worked on. So, yes Adobe is NOT taking this product seriously as it is effectively dead.

The product is dead. The only updates would be if a serious issue (think security flaw) arises. It is kept around for legacy work only. So, to answer the last part of your question, is yes you need to switch to another tool, which is probably Figma.

If you have the All Apps plan, it should be there. If you just bought the plan, it can take a bit for it to appear. Otherwise, contact support via the chat and they can work some backend magic to have it show up. This is a known issue.

Odds are they was an API change in the plug-in system, and none of the XD plugin developers bothered to invest time and money to update them. Given the XD is in maintaince mode, I don't blame them. I doubt this issue will acutally be solved.

Since XD is in maintaince mode, I would not expect a fix. If you continue to use Xd (which I advise against), you are going to have to stay with the workflow you have outlined. Wish I had better options for you.

Adobe is actively hidding it as the product is in maintaince mode and will likely by EOL at some point. If you Creative Cloud App should include it, then you have to contect Adobe support so they can make it available to you.

The product is dead and there is no plans to replace it. Adobe tried to buy Figma, but that purchase was blocked by regulators. XD has been"dead" for about two years. There is that notice on the start screen that outlines what Adobe's plan is for XD.

You are over a year late in this appeal. XD has been shuttered for a long, long time (this was happening even before the public became aware of the Figma offer). XD was a great tool, but we have to move on to new solutions to craft our designs.

There is no direct way to add this functionality to an XD prototype. You have to either simulate, or build the page in actual HTML.

It is only available if you have a full Creative Cloud license. It is no longer available as a single download in any form. The product is effectively discontinued, so unless you are dealing with legacy work, I would not invest in learning the tool.

The app is discontinued. Maintenance mode means it can be downloaded ( provided you have the proper CC plan), and they have a couple of employees who can do some account magic as needed. You are going to either have to learn Figma or another tool for your design needs.

You might need to inform your professor that downloading XD is 'restricted'. You can only get it if your plan has it as part of the package. Even then, you might need to DM support with your account information so they can 'fix' the issue.
