LrC is a non-destructive editor that never modifies the original image file. Because of this when you add settings in the Develop module it is necessary to apply them to the LrC preview file to see the effect.

"I have now had the thumbnails created with 1:1 (only for some images) so I can see the quality very well, but it takes much longer to import images and the catalog increases very much.
Is also not my wish.
I don't want any thumbnails but I want Lightroom to access the images directly.
Isn't there a setting where you can tell Lightroom not to work with thumbnails at all?"
I'm not sure what you mean by thumbnails. When you import image files in LrC Import module you can specify the preview size. I suggest using the 'Standard' setting, which should speed up your import if you were using the 1:1 setting.

"I have a folder in an external drive that show as "missing" but the folder has some ok and some missing. So the folder itself is not missing just some photos."
Select the above folder and go to menu Library> Find all missing photos.

Try resetting your LrC preferences file as detailed in the below article. It can resolve many unexplained issues. Place a copy of the current Preferences file on your desktop so it can be easily restored if the issue persists.

Try resetting your LrC preferences file as detailed in the below article. It can become corrupted and uninstall and reinstall does NOT create a new working Preferences file. It uses the original file. Place a copy of the current Preferences file on your desktop so it can be easily restored if the issue persists.

Those shortcuts should work in the lateset LrC 11.3 version.
Try resetting your LrC preferences file as detailed in the below article. It can resolve many unexplained issues such as this one. Place a copy of the current Preferences file on your desktop so it can be easily restored if the issue persists. Then reinstall LrC 11.3 and see if the shortcuts now work properly.

Since you haven't updated to LrC 11.3 that may be worth a try. You can always reinstall LrC 11.2 if you experience any issues.

You may have a GPU issue. Try disabling the GPU and see if that fixes it.
In LrC Edit> Preferences> Performance set 'Use Graphics Processor' to Off as shown below. Close and restart LrC to apply the setting change. Does that fix the issue?

If resetting the Preferences file doesn't fix the issue you may have a catalog error. First place a backup copy of the current catalog on your desktop then follow the instuctions below. This can sometimes can fix the catalog error.
File > New Catalog > (name it) Create > the new catalog will then open...
File > Import From Another Catalog > (find original catalog) Double Click to open or click Choose > (check box) Import. Once the images have completed the import see if the issue has been fixed.

Canon 5D MKIV mRaw and sRAW files are already demosaiced and reconstructed by manufacturer's camera firmware, which may account for the DNG file size difference.

It sounds like the deletion is being synced to the Cloud. On the next hang click on the cloud icon in the upper right-hand corner and see if it's still syncing.

It looks like there isn't enough overlap (25-50%) on one or more of the image files. Please post a screenshot of the filmstrip showing the files you are trying to merge..
