A lot of people think a new Mac Pro will arrive later this year. As Premiere Pro users would you folks like to see Apple's latest desk top with an Alder Lake CPU or an M2 chip? Should it be smaller than the 2019 Mac Pro? Just curious about other people's thoughts.

Actually, it is relevant. Apple has completely ceased all further development of all Intel-powered Macs. This means that the current Mac Pro is it for Intel. The next Mac Pro will use only Apple silicon.

It's too early to tell since there is no info from Apple at present about these features.

As for the price, no. Apple will not make any really good desktops for less than $2000.00 at all. It is relegating the entire sub-$2000.00 desktop market for its entry-level Max Mini range. More likely, the new Mac Pro will start at a whopping $8000.00.

I don't doubt the new Mac Pro will be expensive but there was a time when Apple made a decent desktop with expansion slots for well under $2,000.00.  Would everyone like a $2000.00 desktop computer form Apple with 5 PCIE expansion slots and no MPX expansion slots? Would you like an optional T3 chip or do you like the T2 chip? Would you like generic expansion bays for hard drives or do you want to be forced to use the Promise Pegasus system? Would you like a smaller Micro ATX form factor. That is what I am asking about in these forums. As I started we all now the Mac Pro will eventually get  Apple silicon. That news is old and irrelevant in 2022.
