Best,
I am looking for a new laptop for my son in animation. School.
Must be able to run the following programs: Adobe acrobatics pro / premier pro / after effects / Photoshop / Bender.

I suspect that this Windows must be at least an i7, but I don't know how many GB of video card it should have.

Can you please help me with this?

Look up the System Requirements page for each of the applications you listed. Note the one that has the highest Recommended specs for graphics hardware, and buy according to that. For example, the two most GPU-intensive applications on your list are Premiere Pro and Blender; looking at their system requirements, for Premiere 4–6GB of VRAM are recommended depending on the type of work, and Blender recommends 8GB, so you probably want to go with the higher number of 8GB VRAM to satisfy all applications.

But, also check the other applications in case one actually recommends more. Also, if your son will need to run multiple demanding applications at the same time, you might even kick up the specs a little more if multple applications need to share resources.

Conrad C, hartelijk dank voor deze snelle reactie. Oké, gebruik dus zeker 8Gb voor de blender die het het meest nodig heeft.

There are at least two things to think about, depending on the level of performance your son expects:

For Premiere Pro, 16GB RAM does meet the Recommended (not Minimum) level for HD content. However, if he anticipates editing 4K video in the future, the Recommended level is 32GB RAM.  If you need to see the link, it’s:

https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/system-requirements.html

For Blender, although the Minimum is 8GB RAM, the Recommended level is 32GB RAM. If you need to see the link, it’s:

https://www.blender.org/download/requirements/

All of that does depend on performance expectations. If your son expects “adequate” performance for his studies, editing HD and not 4K video, and 32GB RAM is too expensive for the budget, then 16GB RAM may work well enough. But if your son expects “very good” performance, especially when multiple applications are running, it would be preferable to reach the Recommended level for all required software, and at least for Premiere Pro and Blender, that appears to be 32GB RAM.

Remember, in my earlier post I recommended reviewing the system requirements for all major software applications your son expects to use. Make sure you have not just read what we say here about Premiere Pro and Blender, but that you have also researched and decided what performance level to meet for any other software titles your son expects to use during his studies.

The 8GB RTX 4060 graphics card and 1TB of storage seem OK.

Dear, thank you for message. I am aware of this. If there are problems later, I can still change the RAM to 32 GB.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
