I have Shockwave installed and it shows in Internet Explorer Add-ons as Shockwave Flash Object, Enabled,Active X Control, Flash 9d.ocx. The download showed "Shockwave Player 10.1." I have downloaded and run the installation for Flash Player. I receive a message that the "Flash Player was installed successfully" but it does not show in Add or Remove Programs and does not show in Explorer Add-ons. I have tried rebooting after the installation but apparently the program is not installing. Can anyone . Could this be a setting problem? Can someone help?

Received this message on September 29. I still cannot get my flash player to work. I can't get it to enable.

This might be extremely simple (but I was having the same problem that everyone noted and tried everything to no avail). After beating my head against the wall, I looked at the add-ons that were being used for IE. I noticed that some of the Adobe add-ons were disabled (specifically the one with Flash and Active X. So I enabled them and I was inmediately able to view flash player files. I rebooted the computer a couple of times and it still held true. Then I decided to disable the add-ons once again and voila! - I could not use the flash player again.
Anyways, hope this helps someone else and that it is not temporary.
By the way - I am running regular Windows XP

I tried going to this web-site http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/2153/vista_adobe_flash_player it should also work with xp... follow the same as if you were to with "vista 32 bit"

I went through the installation process and received a message that the Flash Player was successfully installed, but the Flash Player does not work.
