Having dell xps 8300 How good is the performance of i7 2600 in after effects and premiere pro?  I am going to use it as a starter. Will upgrade within a year or 6 months... Just wanted to know will it fair for a beginner? Motherboard supports 16 gb Max. Will upgrade the graphics cards to GTX 1070 /1060.

If this is in the wrong forum then I apologise.Having an issue with CUDA on Premiere Pro CC 2015 and my GTX 760 4GB. I was editing on Premiere yesterday and had no problems and I have been using this card and Premiere Pro CC (2014 & 2015) for over a year now with no issues. However, today I opened up the project I was working on yesterday and got the message telling me that CUDA GPU acceleration is no longer available. When I create a new project I only get the option to use software CUDA. Went into the NVIDIA Control Panel and selected 'use all GPUs' for CUDA with Premiere Pro - still not working.I did update my graphics card drivers a few days ago but it seems odd that CUDA would be disabled now and not straight after I updated.Graphics drivers: 355.60 (latest at time of posting - 16/08/2015)Operating system: Windows 10 Pro x64 (I installed Windows 10 two weeks ago and have had no issues with CUDA until this morning).Thanks.

Has anyone used an intel Xeon Phi card to add cores to a windows system for use with Adobe software?I'm looking to use the additional cores to render comps out of After Effects. There's a simple script (BGrender) that allow you to launch a discrete version of After Effects in each seperate core so rendering is much quicker.We are already successfully doing this on our 28 core Windows machine. and have added the Xeon Phi to the machine but After Effects does not see the added cores.Any thinking would be welcome.Thanks,Mike

Hey all!Quick question: I recently picked up an 8-bay Areca 8050T2. I also grabbed 8x 8TB Seagate IronWolf drives.I'm wondering what the best RAID setup for PP/AE? I'm using a Mac Pro with a 1TB drive as well.Should I do RAID 5? RAID 0 with constant backups? Something else? How should I set up PP/AE?Second question, if you don't mind: can I put my raw files on the RAID and ALSO render to the same RAID, or will that cause performance issues?Thank you all so much.

Current systemWin7x64PROC: Samsung850EVO  OS & ProgramsE: Samsung960EVO  Assets and Exports currently being edited.L: WD4TB hard drive  for archiving all video&pictures after editing.I know that for top speed in crunching videos using PPro that it's recommended to turn Win7X64 indexing off.  After I recently replaced my 2 raid0 volumes and C:OS/Program Files, I can't find some of the files located on my new 4TB archive drive.  Using the search in Windows Explorer it can't even find the name "Steve" located in a window that's open with all the pics with the filename from the camera appended with Steve at the end of the name.  Is it ok to turn file indexing on for the drives that are not being used for reading video assets and writing exports to?  My 960EVO is only used for processing the videos and I assume indexing should be off for this drive.Can I turn on indexing for my C: & L:?Or, does the indexing use too much CPU when on in the backg

I recently replaced my 2 raid 0 volumes with a single Samsung 960 Evo.  it is 500G in size and fills up fast.  The OS and program files are on a separate 850 EVO.  I archive the assets, exports and project files on a 4TB hard drive when I've finished mixing them in PProCS6.  What is the best way to erase the files on the 960EVO?Delete?format?CCleaner drive wipe?Do any of these operations shorten the life of the SSD?Thanks

I use a PC I built a few years ago, with guidance from several of you here, and from one who has sadly passed away (I found out only yesterday about Harm's passing).The PC served my post production needs well in that time, but now requires some maintenance, plus an upgrade to the C: drive.Current specs at the bottom of this post.Now the time has come I must replace the C: drive. It isn't large enough for all the programs I want to install,including DaVinci Resole (which insists I keep current projects on that drive), the full Adobe CC Suite, and several others.My Questions are--1-- Would an SSD which plugs into a PCIe 3.0 slot work with my model of motherboard?2-- IF it does work, could it act as the C: drive and have my OS run on it?3-- If the above doesn't work, I'll just use an older style (but larger capacity) 2.5 inch SSD plugged into a SATA port.      any recommendations?4-- While I have the forum's attention. Hey all,This website for NVIDIA says Quadro P5000 is the best processor for premier pro, P3000 is better and M2000 is good. none of these are listed n adobe recommendations. My plan was originally to get a dekstop processor and a gtx1080 in a latop, but one just came up which seems great value with the 7700HQ and a 6gb VRAM gtx1060My current desktop is a i7 5820K at stock with a gtx970 (4gb).  I know its a laptop processor, but will I find it unbearable to edit on? After using Mac pretty much exclusively for years, I'm finally jumping over to PC. I'm starting to get familiar with what I need for my first build. I'll be using it primarily for Premiere/After Effects, probably some Photoshop as well. I wanted to get some feedback from you guys since I'm pretty much going in blind on this. Hey guys - I've been using Adobe CC for a while now but recently I've been trying to broaden my usage.  I might be completely missing something obvious here, which I'm willing to be told as part of my learning process, but when using AME to transcode H.264 to Cineform using GPU acceleration I'm seeing no GPU usage.  I've got a number of different systems here including a box with a GTX 1070, Quadro M4000 and a FirePro W9100, I'm trying to test which GPU is best for transcoding (i.e. the W9100 for OpenCL vs the Quadro for CUDA) but as I can't see any GPU activity I'm not sure if I'm even doing this right.  You can see in the image below I'm using CUDA acceleration for Cineform and this is with the GTX 1070, it's well into an encode, but there's no GPU utilisation at all.  Anybody able to let me know what I'm missing? Is this encode supposed to use GPU acceleration as the renderer suggests, or is this a CPU locked activity?

Just slotted in the GTX 980ti into my machine running i7 3.3 GHz - 32gb Ram Loading up Premiere Pro CC2015  I am not seeing a great deal difference in render times from my GTX 770 or even 580 The Mercury PLayback engine is on and selected - Is there a specific disk configuration to make this work - am I bottlenecking ? I am stacking layers of video to test the power - there is not much difference between my old GTX 580 £50 card and this one One good thing is that is it playing back 4k files on VLC player just about , any thoughts on this greatfully accepted !

How about this from two Samsung 960 Pro M.2 in RAID 0:But I will have to say that exporting from Premiere with the PPBM disk intensive Disk I/O timeline cannot take advantage of this sequential write speed.  Our Premiere Pro benchmark stops improving at ~2000 MB/second so this configuration would not be practical usage.I just could not resist showing these astronomical transfer rates
