Camera Raw Plug in for PSE 15

I have been using PSE 15 for quite some time now.  The Camera Raw version plug in is version 9.10.0.739.  I also have the NIK Collection plug in.  Camera Raw stopped recognizing my RAW (NEF) files starting with my Nikon D780 and now with my Nikon Z 6ii.  Previous NEF files open fine (D750/D500). I have tried and failed miserably to update the version in PSE 15 to a higher version.  Is this even possible at this time?  Am I forced to go the cloud subscription route?  I'd really like to continue with the PSE 15 version as I don't need anything really high powered.  Nikon's NX Studio seems very robust but I get confused easily with the work flow.  Any suggestions?
