Hello. This is Sima.
First of all, you must have been frustrated by the fact that InDesign crashes and does not activate.
It would have been better if you had written down the symptoms in detail, but unfortunately, since 2025 InDesign does not work and only crashes, I have written down the solutions to the symptoms on the surface.
I think you should try them in order.
I hope this problem is resolved.
1. Reset the Preferences File
The most common cause of InDesign crashes is when the preferences file is corrupted.
Resetting this file restores the default settings.
Mac: Command + Option + Shift
2. App recovery through the Adobe Creative Cloud app
• Adobe provides an error recovery tool for InDesign in the Creative Cloud app. Launch the Creative Cloud app, find the InDesign app, click the three-dot menu, and select Recover.
• This feature automatically diagnoses and repairs damaged installation files, plugin conflicts, and library errors. It's worth a try.
3. Checking for font conflicts with plug-ins
• Unstable third-party plug-ins or corrupted fonts are the main causes of InDesign crashes.
Checking the plug-in: Disable or uninstall the plug-in temporarily to check for any conflicts.
Mac: Move the plug-in to the /Applications/Adobe InDesign 2025/Plug-ins folder.
Font inspection: To detect damaged fonts, disable fonts with errors using the Font Book (Mac) or font management software.
• If you are using Adobe Fonts, run Reset Font Sync in the Creative Cloud app.
