Lightroom 8.3 crashes on startup with EXCEPTION_UNKNOWN (0xe06d7363)
Hello,
I am experiencing a recurring crash when attempting to launch Adobe Lightroom version 8.3 (Build 20250414-1406-5ace587) on Windows 11 Pro. The application crashes approximately 11 seconds after startup.
According to the Adobe crash report, the following details were captured:
Exception Code: 0xe06d7363 (EXCEPTION_UNKNOWN)
Crash Location: At RaiseException during aep_startup phase
GPU Setup:
NVIDIA Quadro P600 (Driver 31.0.15.2849)
Intel UHD Graphics 630 (Driver 31.0.101.2135)
Relevant Adobe DLLs Loaded:
CRClient.dll, Headlights.dll, CameraRaw.dll, net_client.dll, bridgetalk.dll, Import.lrmodule, etc.
I’ve already tried:
Ensured both GPU drivers are up to date
Checked for stable internet connection
Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom
Additional Context:
Photoshop and Premiere Pro both work perfectly fine on the same machine.
The issue appears to affect Lightroom and Adobe Creative Cloud app specifically.
Creative Cloud itself fails to open properly, and cannot be cleanly uninstalled using standard methods or the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool (it often gets stuck or throws errors).
Based on the crash stack trace and behavior, this might be related to a plugin load failure or a network-dependent call during the early aep_startup phase.
