Add sRGB / NCLC 1-13-1 Export Option to Premiere
Feature Request: Add sRGB / NCLC 1-13-1 Export Option
Premiere Pro can correctly recognize media tagged as NCLC 1-13-1 as sRGB, but it cannot export H.264 or ProRes with this tag.
Our CG workflow uses an sRGB / gamma 2.2 viewing environment. Premiere currently exports H.264 as 1-1-1, which causes it to appear darker than the original sRGB PNG in color-managed players.
I tested changing only the metadata, without re-encoding:
Primaries: BT.709 — 1
Transfer: sRGB — 13
Matrix: BT.709 — 1
Range: Video
The resulting 1-13-1 H.264 closely matched the original sRGB PNG in:
macOS QuickTime Player
Windows Media Player
VLC
RV
Premiere Pro
Premiere and RV also correctly recognized the modified file as sRGB.
Please add an export option for sRGB / NCLC 1-13-1, especially for H.264 and ProRes. Ideally, users should be able to select the output primaries, transfer characteristics, matrix coefficients, and range independently.
This would be very useful for CG, animation, web, and other sRGB-based workflows.
