Acrobat SDK

I have a custom program written in C#/.NET that opens PDFs simply using System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(). For one user if they open a PDF through this custom program, they then are unable to open PDFs in Windows Explorer.If they attempt to open a PDF in Explorer it takes a minute and then they get a Fatal Error: "Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server.".They can continue opening PDFs using the custom program, they just can't open using Windows Explorer.If they close the last of the PDFs opened up by the custom program, then they can start to open PDFs using Explorer.I've tried disabling the anti-virus program, reinstalled Adobe, looked for competing Adobe programs on the computer etc.I've also tried adjusting the code so it passes the PDF file as an argument to the Acrobat.exe.The user is on version Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2015.006.30418 Has anyone had this issue before? We've used this software for years with no trouble.

I need a script for a .pdf form that if the value of another field is zero this field will be zero, if not the field will become the value of a third field.i.e.  if Q = 0 then P = 0 else P = U

Bonjour à tous,J'utilise Excel et VBA pour exporter de nombreux PDF, utilisés par mes collègues comme un formulaire qu'ils impriment et remplissent à la main.La fonction "Détecter les champs" disponible dans Adobe Acrobat Pro DC me permet de transformer ce PDF en formulaire, j'aimerais pouvoir automatiser cette étape de détection des champs avec VBA pour que mes collègues puissent remplir le formulaire sans l'imprimer.Je n'arrive pas a trouver de ressources pour piloter cette fonction via VBA, pourriez-vous m'aider ?Merci d'avance.

In an MS Access Database, using VBA calling the acrobat objects, I am creating and joining a number of different PDF pages, and creating a set of book marks in the resulting document.  In the development PC I have set a reference to the 'Acrobat' library.   All works fine on development PC, however I need to run the database on other PCs which do not have Adobe Acrobat installed.  Question:  Is there a way to simply install the Acrobat library on the other PCs, or do I need to install a full version of Adobe Acrobat on each machine.    If the latter what is the minimum (cheapest) Acrobat version I need to purchase to get the Acrobat reference installed.Thanks

Hi,If I modified the javascript code for an existing, free action wizard offered by Adobe Acrobat, do I need permission from Adobe to copyright the derivative of the original action wizard?  It appears all of their free programs are copyrighted per https://www.adobe.com/legal/terms.html but it is unclear whether I can still copyright the parts I modified to create a derivative which is significantly different than Adobe's original work.I realize no one is a lawyer on this forum but if anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be really appreciated.  I have researched the internet but have not found a clear answer.Note the Action Wizard was made in Adobe Acrobat X.Thanks.S. So right now, I'm trying to create a fillable pdf form in Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 for the character sheet of a tabletop game so it automatically calculates the various stats. The problem I'm having is that I can't get a checkbox to export the value "Off" when it's unchecked like it's supposed to. Either that or my Javascript is garbage because I don't get Javascript at all.What I want to happen is, if the checkbox is checked AND the value in textbox called "Ranks" is 1 or greater, then the text box called "Total" is equal to the sum of 3 + ranks + other boxes. Can anyone help?Every time I try and print several 2-sided copies of a multi-paged document, if it is an odd number of pages - it starts the next copy on the back of the previous copy.So if I've got a document 3 pages long, it would normally print  1&2 back to back and then 3& nothing page back to back.ALL other packages I use will do this, but not Acrobat.Acrobat seems to not want to waste paper! and instead decides to start the next copy without the break:e.g.  Acrobat will print  1&2 back to back and 3&1(of next copy) then 2&3 etc. So it's not even that I can then go back and reprint the messed up second page of everything, it completely stuffs up my printing.Is there a setting I'm just not aware of? It's seems crazy that ALL other packages know not to do this, but Acrobat thinks this is ok!It is driving me bonkers - not to say wasting lots of paper and ink.thanks

I want to give my customers the option of inputting mm/yyyy OR yyyy OR mm/dd/yyyy on the adobe pdf fillable form when I send it to them but am having trouble making this work.Does anybody know how to do this?THANKS!AW

Hi everyone, I have finished all of my other PDF based projects with great help from the community. I am now at the final task which as the name of the topic suggests, is a save as function. I have read the documents about it, I am not fully understanding. Can someone show me what the script is supposed to look like for a save as function that calls from three text fields? Also, where does the script then get placed? As for the button that needs to be made on the file, how do I attach the script to the particular button?Thank you in advance.

My team and I work a lot with comments and replies and often have to copy them on to a separate document. How we have done it in the past is copy the original comment (it does not copy any of the replies) and then manually re-enter the replies and change the properties to the name of the person that actually made the reply. I thought there has to be a better way to do this. Any help is much appreciated.

For example, lets assumethat a procedure in 15 pages long. So, at the very beginning of the procedure will require the supervisor initials and then procedure will be sent out forcompletion, and, once the procedure is complete, it'll be sent back to the supervisor. I will create a submit option at the end of the procedure,which will be linked to the supervisor's email.So, what I wanted to know if there is a way where based on the initials of the supervisor at the beginning of the document, the"submit" tab at the end will be linked automatically to the corresponding supervisor. Suppose there are 10 supervisors (1-10). Once supervisor 5 has input his initials at the beginning, supervisor 5's email address will be automatically linked to the "submit" tab. In Adobe Acrobat Professional, after I select the Select Tool, close the document, and open another document, the Select Tool is selected in the opened document. (The program remembers the tool which was last used.) I need to know how to make all documents open with the hand tool selected by default, regardless of what tool was selected the last time.I have tried to put a check mark beside “Make hand tool select text & images” in the General category, but the program still remembers the tool which was used last time.Is there a script which can set the Hand tool as the default choice?

Hello everybody.I have a form that I made available for filling in Dropbox. I made available the account in some tablets and in this form I created an icon that when finishing the completion, the person clicks on this icon and at the top is created a text that serves for the correct nomenclature of this file to save. The problem is that when we select the "Save in" option in acrobat (mobile), I can not copy this name and save the file with this nomenclature. Is there a way to save the file with the name we want in Acrobat and Dropbox via mobile?Regards,Berg

I have a pdf form with some labels and texts on it. I have a javascript which shows/hides some fields when a checkbox is clicked. When some fieds are hidden, they create some blank space in the form. How can I collapse the section /move  rest of the fields up to get rid of thiose extra spaces? They should ceate those spaces again when the hidden fields show up.Can some body help? I have using adobe acrobate reader 2017 on a windows 8 system.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to get my custom icon on the addToolButton function. This is running from the following folder:C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat\JavascriptsI am running Acrobat Pro DC. I can get the button to work if I don't have anything about a custom icon in the code. Everything functions fine. We are in the process of getting an SDK to allow us to create a custom application to read PDF files.  We need test files that use different features within the PDF structure so we can verify that the product successfully renders the PDF file.The Adobe PDF Library SDK is one of the options we will be evaluating.  There is another SDK at Adobe that requires a copy of Adobe Reader, but that is not suitable for our use.We had purchased an SDK, but it turns out it doesn't handle transparencies well.  We want sample PDF files so that our next purchase can be verified to work.

I am looking to create a form data exchange to create a new PDF with the imported data, add pages from a PDF repository.  I can build the PDF and prepare it for distribution but the data exchange with SOAP is a whole new world.  I had used ADBC within our network and it worked great.  I am working with our programmer who has already set up the WSDL.  I am just looiking for a solid example of how to connect, request, receive and populate PDF. I believe a web page that managed the front end would work as well - Get the data and open and work with an existing PDF form.  I have downloaded the Acrobat SDK but I haven't found a SOAP exchange sample in the mix.

Hi All,We are using iManage Filesite 9.0 client as a document management system which uses an API "IManAcrobatReader10.api" to display Save to Worksite option under the File menu. I need to access this using the Action "Execute the Menu item" but I only Save As option in there is which is local save to disk. I need to somehow call this API probably using a java script. I am not familiar doing that. Could someone provide probably an example of code. I will appreciate the help!
