[moved post from the After Effects Forum]Hi guys, just having a nightmare here. All started when I had to convert in Adobe Encoder a HVEC encoded Mov (Drone footages...). Encoder asked me to download the HVEC codecs, I hit "ok" and it allowed me to start the encoding. Nice on that!Well, after that... all footages that I have using Prores 444 or ProRes 444xq won't be readable by encoder or, even worst: After Fx.In After Fx I get this pop up message when opening a project containing a ProRes 444 file:"After Effects warning: There is a problem accessing the audio or video data in 1 files since you last saved this project. Reload Footage or Replace Footage as needed.filename.mov"Even more: when creating a new project, and importing a 444 mov, it comes with audio but no video.I've managed a workaround for on the clock demands, like today, but i desperately need some help here. The workaround: managed to export again the footage using 422HQ. Finder preview: ok.FinalCut X: ok.QuickTime Player: o
Everytime I render out a batch of videos in AME, the entire system freezes and I have to do a hard shutdown. I've let it render over night and the next morning it is still frozen. My sequences have dynamic linked After Effects comps in most which seems to make it freeze. I can render other sequences without dynamic links fine.Below are the sequence settings. The source footage is 4k green screen keyed out. If I render the same sequence out at 720p at 8Mbps, it usually doesn't freeze. It does it with both OpenCL and Metal. It does not freeze if I render one video at a time through Premiere which is not feasible when I have to render out 20 some videos at once and then work on another project. Just a time waster. Further below are my computer specs. This same exact setup does not happen on the older 2013 iMac Pro that I used to use. Let me know what other information is needed to help with this problem.AME Version 12.1.2 (Build 69)
why media encoder make white to #FBFBFB while export to gif. that is not good. does any body have any solution?
This is not another "rendering is slow" thread. I'm having an issue getting to settings menu. Whether I'm editing a new project or just dragging clips into AME to convert and upload to social media (using presets), clicking on a preset (not the dropdown menu but the actual preset link) takes anywhere from a minute and forty-five seconds to two minutes for the "Export Settings" screen to pop up. Once it's up I can add in the title and description for the clip and close it. But when I try to open the next one or go back into it to edit I have to wait another 1:45 - 2:00 for the Export settings to open up. In premiere when I press CTRL-M or changing presets using the dropdown menu from the Esport Settings window has a two minute wait, In AME it just takes two minutes to open the export settings screen. After I hit Play in AME It does seem to take about 1 - 2 minutes for AME to begin rendering the first file and then instantly goes onto the next one. They render at the same normal fast spe
Our problem. Is that we use many mpeg2 files in the Premiere project and can not replace / convert them. In the Media Encoder random media offline these files (never in the premiere). If you're exporting from Premiere, then there is no problem. The "import sequences nativley" thing does not work. Delete Media Cache also not working. Run as administrator (Premiere and Encoder) also does not work.Unfortunately, this is a big problem because it takes a lot of time to export from day to day work.Any ideas?AME error log (maybe):Log file created: 2018. 08. 31. 15:17:01------------------------------------------Ticks = 610 <6280> <Wasapi initialization> <5> Time = 0.0165658secondTicks = 985 <6280> <DS> <5> GPUSniffer launching with test mask 254Ticks = 6969 <6280> <AMEApp> <0> Time taken to load MediaCore plugins: 3126.82 milliseconds.Ticks = 7828
My media encoder crashes after 1 minute. I cant even start encoding. Im either browsing for a file, or the presets, and it crashes.MBP 15 20182,6 i732gb560xand razer core x with vega64
Hi,I just built a new workstation and I'm a little surprised to find my exports are seemingly a little slow when using AME.I'm exporting a 4 minute 1080p H.264 project using the 'Vimeo 1080p' preset.20 minutes have elapsed so far and it looks like theres still another 20 to go.I only have one 'effect' in my project and this is simply an adjustment layer with a levels adjustment. It appears only 1 of my 28 CPU threads is hitting 100% and my GPU (1080 Ti) isnt being used at all.Is this typical of AME performance or is something not quite right here? Please see attached screenshot for my info. Thanks for your time
Hi. Does AME support WebM VP8 with alpha? I found a free download, but it did not generate a transparent video. Is there any supported way to generate WebM, VP8, with transparency/alpha?I ask for this format in particular because I am using Character Animator to generate a flat 2D video which I was going to try importing into a 3D model in Unity 3D and try to generate a 360 view video with all the perspectives etc correct. But Unity 3D seems only to support WebM VP8 with alpha (and and apple format, but I am on Windows). So I can import the video, but its on a black background.I have seen suggestions of using online converters to generate another format and convert it later, but was hoping to avoid the extra step. Also comments on the GitHub free project helpfully saying "its open source - if you want alpha support, fix the code yourself". Umm, I am not at the skill level to rewrite the code of video codecs!!Just wondering if any plans from Adobe to get WebM VP8 added natively.
Whenever we batch audio files to MP3 about 25% of the files will be glitched and we cannot find a pattern. This happens in AME on any type of machine using the same MP3 Audio preset. The type of glitch Parallel Encoding settings is pretty consistent:scrambling the audio so the last half is spliced into the beginningadding a hiccup/pop at the very end of the filespeeding up the entire audio fileI've tried a number of fixes like turning off the “Enable Parallel Encoding”, trying different machines etc to no avail.Anybody else have this issue?
Hi there.I wanna set footage setting in ExtendScript.Concretely, I wanna change frame rate from 29.97 to 30.00 in source footage. In GUI, it will change the items as below. Now, I added line as below in my source code.const xxxx = enc.setFrameRate(30);But it didn't work.Does anyone know that could set footage setting in ExtendScript?
Dear forum,we are planning a small transcoding farm using several Adobe Media Encoders and a thiry-party tool called Helmut IO (Remote Node Renderer) from Moovit. The Helmut-tool is managing the jobs from watchfolders and Premiere client panels and assigns them to an idle encoding node.On the one hand I am very happy to find that AME runs fine on any machine I have tried so far, on the other hand I would like to know whether there's an optimal hardware choice for AME. So far the AME is running ok on HP Z800 (with Quadro4000) and HP DL360G7 (without GPU).I my mind I would go with some sort of server hardware and a GPU, but I have not figured out yet what codecs are significantly accelerated with a CUDA-compatible card. Since the CS6 times have passed and not only Quadro-cards are supported, a regular GTX-card should do well. In terms of CPU, Adobe recommends less cores and higher frequency. If anyone has some input on that issue I would greatly appreciate it.Best Regards,Silvan
Hi,Just update to CC 20 17. As expected getting a few bugs. One big one is I now can't export a render from After Effects to Media Encoder. No error messages. The file just won't open. I seem to remember this happening in another update but can't remember how to solve it..Anyone have any solutions? Thanks in advance.CheersDan
Hello, My media encoder keeps crashing mid render. I'm trying to render 360 video at 5k. The only plugin that I used was Mocha VR. It won't open when I select export media in adobe premiere. I have to manually open it in ME. Below is my crash report. Is there any other information I should provide when submitting a crash report like this? <?xml version="1.0"?><!DOCTYPE AdobeCrashReport SYSTEM "AdobeCrashReporter.dtd"><crashreport serviceVersion="1.6.4" clientVersion="1.6.4" applicationName="Adobe Media Encoder" applicationVersion="12.1.2" build="69"><time year="2018" month="9" day="2" hour="21" minute="23" second="58"/><user guid="efd73655-731e-42cd-8e0e-cffb0d36ce49"/><system platform="Windows 10 Pro" osversion="10.0" osbuild="17134" applicationlanguage="en-us" userlanguage="en-US" oslanguage="en-US" ram="48822" machine="Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7800X CPU @ 3.50GHz" model="Intel64 Family 6 Model 85 Stepping 4" cpuCount="12" cpuType="8664" cpuFreq="3504 MHz
Hi, i have trouble with AME. Because of audio repeating glitch i have to unistall my AME v2015. After doing it i have no other option than instal AME v2017 which is not cooperates with my Premiere v2015. I dont want to update to Premiere v2017, because then i have to upgrade my whole OSX and also - in v2017 there is another MTS audio glitch, which i can not affort for my work. After 3 hours trying to solve this problem on adobe technical support i receive only one answer - that i have to export my videos in Premiere. But.. when you input adjustment layers to your sequence, there is another glitch - stroboscoping black frames in exported video.Im trying to find any way out of this but get into dead end. It seems that Adobe just dont give a damn about users problems. They smack you with Guptas (the guy on the "support") answer and thats all.Can anybody somehow help me with this by sending me dmg file of AME v2015 or do you have any other solution?Thank youJ.T.
I have done two batches of encodes of the same files with Media Encoder. In both instances, Media Encoder's new files were Filename_1.ext.That is, unless the original files were from an iPhone. One encode was h.264 and the other was DNxHD.Is there any reason for this?JJ

HiI am creating an animation in after effects for a sports game LED system that has the dimensions 5280x96px. Is there anyway of exporting this in Mp4 format with H.264? I know H.265 allows for this to be exported at this size but H.264 doesn't and reduces the width to 4096px. However I know not all systems support H.265. I would appreciate any expertise in this. Thanks.
Hi All,Strange problem never come across before.I have a premiere sequence I send to AME to encode H264 1920x1080 - high bitrateThere are 2 issues:1. At the start of the sequence I have audio that plays perfectly on the premiere output window but when rendered via AME cuts of the first second or so. I have checked everything in premiere and I export entire sequence not in/out etc.2. I have some video/audio that is synced and sounds perfect in premiere but when rendered (same settings as above) causes it to be out of sync by a second or 2.Any ideas please?ThanksChris
I have a different audio issue in AME:I'm getting audio from a completely different project in short :20-:30 spots throughout the AME encoded file. This only happens with mpeg2DVD files.
After upgrading AME from 2014 to 2017 dragging image sequence in to AME leads to different behavior. Now it asks me if i want to import each image separately or "stitch" them . Upon choosing latter AME creates one rendering node with all images however resulting output would make each image not equal one frame (which is only logical interpretation of image sequence) but instead each image in the sequence would last for something like a second - making it some kind of slideshow. How can i achieve a result (which was previously a default) where each image in a sequence i import would be interpreted as ONLY ONE frame of resulting render? In case it's not clear -- image sequences (JPG, TGA , PNG DXF) is most common way to output animated materials in all VFX and animation related industries.I really not sure who would benefit from transforming frame by frame sequence in some kind of slideshows - but i'm certain it wouldn't be one of the many video VFX and animation professionals using a
I'm animating a large selection of png files in multiple projects.. In the past, I've imported them into Premiere and changed the Clip Speed / Duration, and rendered. I need each png file to be displayed a certain about of time kinda like a slide show. Since I'm dealing with 10s of thousands of frames to animate in multiple projects, this has been a slow process.I discovered only recently that Media Encoder can animate frames from a directory without using Premiere -- awesome!! But I can't seem to change the Clip Speed / Duration What if I want each png file to be displayed for 1 second each? Where can I change this in ME? I've spent hours researching and I'm coming up blank. Is there a way to generate an animation from png frames where I can specify how long to show each png? Thanks!!!!
Sending render job out of AE to AME. Comp is 1080x1080 square for Insta. Have selected DNxHR MXF-Op1a format option, and using the resolution independent flavor of DNxHR-HQx.Inspecting the file in MediaInfo.app I can see the metadata says the display aspect ratio of the .mxf is 16:9 (wrong!). Ingesting the file into various apps for QC yields different, and inconsistent results. Sometimes it looks correct with 1:1 square aspect ratio, other times it adheres to the 16:9 flag and stretches. The .xmp file produced by AME at the same time as the .mxf must be in the same folder to have the media interpreted correctly 100% of the time. Presumably the line {xmpDM:videoPixelAspectRatio="1/1"} is what alerts the video players (and/or AME on re-ingest) that the video is to be interpreted as square. If I export the same comp to Quicktime .mov as DNxHR-HQx I do not encounter the aspect ratio issue. Its just the .mxf file, which we obviously prefer.Anything
Hello, community I am new to the forums this is my first post. Adobe Media Encoder fails to encode a project imported from After Effects CC. I did search the forums and tried possible solution posted which was to disable "import sequences natively" and changing video renderer to "Mercury Playback Software Engine Only" in preferferences > General in Adobe Media Encoder Settings.Unfortunately trying the suggestions has not helped, I hope someone can help me resolve this issue please see the error below;------------------------------------------------------------ - Encoding Time: 00:10:1808/24/2018 07:58:28 PM : Encoding Failed------------------------------------------------------------Export ErrorError compiling movie.Render ErrorRender returned error.Writing with exporter: H.264Writing to file: \\?\C:\Users\James\Downloads\Compressed\high-tech-logo\high-tech_logo\high-tech_logo (converted)_AME\High-Tech Logo.mp4Writing file type: H264Around timecode: 00:00:01:17 - 00:00:02:01Renderin
I have a sequence in Adobe Premiere that I need to export as a Motion JPEG in order for it to play from a thumb drive directly connected to a TV. This is the only sort of motion format the tv accepts....Thanks for nothing Sanyo .PLEASE ADVISE.
Hi,I noticed, that the effect "loudness normalization" does not work properly when rendering one source to multiple outputs at the same time. I have 2 outputs (both h.264 and aac audio) and added the "loudness normalization" to both outputs, but with different settings. The results are completely different from the renderings with only one output at a time, but with identical settings. It would be nice to render to more than one output with stable results! Or did I totally miss something?Best,Normann
