A couple of months ago I lost all my effect rack presets simply because I held down shift while opening Audition. Now a former of colleague of mine has all of his presets for no apparent reason. They're just all gone. The same goes for his Batch Process favorites. My colleague tried replacing the effectpresets.xml in the 10.0 folder with an old one he had backed up, but it's like Audition doesn't register the file because none of his old presets show up. So is there a way to actually make back ups of your presets? Both the effect rack ones and the batch processing ones?

It's not just the Waves plugins that make Audition crash. I experience it a lot whenever I try to batch process more than 20 files. For instance, I've made a couple of batch processing presets that I use for inserting silence at the beginning and end of files. Whenever I try to batch process more than 20 files at a time Audition crashes as soon as it reaches 99%. I've experienced this on four different computers now. There is a quick fix for the effect rack crash though. It's not super optimal, but it works: If you save your effect rack before applying, you can quit Audition, reopen your project, find your new effect rack preset on the list and then apply it. Now Audition won't crash if you apply the effect rack. You can also change the settings of your plugins, and apply it and it still won't crash. I hope this helps just a tiny bit

Yeah, luckily I've been able to recreate the ones I've had to use since they all disappeared. But it can still be a potential nightmare if I can't remember my old chains. I'm surprised that there aren't easier ways to export your presets/chains? At my old work it was a bit of a hassle to have to copy each other's chains, because we had to read them out loud to each other from across the studios. Oh well, I guess the lesson is to make a backup of the EffectPresets.xml file before updating and or resetting the program

I think you're right I did a little digging myself and I found out that you're able to import application settings, so I tried importing the EffectPresets.xml file from my 10.0 folder, but unfortunately it showed me this error: "The file EffectPresets.xml could not be imported as applications settings due to an unknown error". I also tried copying over the 10.0 EffectPresets.xml file into the 9.0 folder but it didn't help

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. My temp folder was acting up, so I followed the advice in thread I found here on this forum that said I should reset Audition to its "vanilla preferences". So I started up Audition while holding down "shift". After I had done this Audition asked me if I wanted to reset everything to my 9.0 settings and I clicked "yes" - what I didn't know what that it removed all the new presets I had made. So now I'm in a really bad situation where tons and tons of presets are gone. I've noticed that my Library/Preferences/Adobe/Audition/10.0 folder is still there and in that folder there is an Effect Rack folder. It's empty though but it's also empty in the 9.0, 8.0, and 7.0 folders. So I was kinda hoping that I could get Audition to look at the settings that should still be there in the 10.0 folder. I've attached a screenshot so you can see what I mean Does anyone know if this is possible? Or have I seriously lost all my presets? I mean, hopefully Audition doesn't overwrite files simply because you revert it to its "vanilla preferences"... right?

Clicking on the presets in the noise reduction plugin and selecting "default" solved the problem for me - except that it keeps resetting my settings. But I can live with that as long my trusty noise reduction plugin is back in business

Hey, So this has been happening ever since the update that came out in late 2016/early 2017. Nearly every single time I hit "Apply" under the Effect Rack panel, Audition starts loading, and then when it reaches 100% it crashes to desktop. Then when I restart it and load up my project I'll hit "Apply" again and it'll apply my effect chain without any problem. The same happens when I try to batch process +10 files - and it doesn't matter what the batch process does. I've tried batch processes that contain third party plugins and I've tried batch processes that don't contain any third party plugins and it still happens? Is anyone else experiencing this? I've tried it on 4 different computers now and it happens on all four
