I have lost a Premiere Pro project file I was working on yesterday. I foolishly left it untitled and thought I knew where I saved it, on a hard drive I always work from, however now I cannot find the file or any auto-saves anywhere on the hard drive. I have gone through all the 'Untitled' PP files on my computer and my hard drive and cannnot find anything opened or saved on the date I was working on the project. I have the MP4 export which I exported from Premiere Pro, and I have Audition and After Effects files which were both linked and exported to the PP project. Is there anyway I can find an export history from PP to show this project from yesterday, or any other programme? I exported a mixdown from AU into the PP project and also the AE file was imported into it too. Any help or tips would be amazing.

Hi, I normally create all my sequences/projects in AVCHD and export them as MP4. Why is there no preset for a 4K AVCHD sequence though? Thanks

Thanks Carlos. I often use Proxies however that wasn't my question, I wanted to know why the resolution wouldn't drop when I selected it to. The issue seems to have been resolved overnight however.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. The issue seems to have resolved itself overnight, perhaps an update was installed without my knowing. It was just very odd the resolution wouldn't drop. I'm using V14.0.0. I use macOS Mojave v 10.14.6, CPU is 2.8GHz, Memory 16GB, 1TB SSD, GPU Intel Iris Pro 1536MB. I do use Motion Array extension so will also remove in future if this becomes an issue again. Thanks S

So I have a timeline full of 4K footage, when I try to drop my resolution from full to 1/4 the footage in my programme monitor clearly plays back at the same resolution and is giving me massive lag.
I am not a newbie and know there is something weird going on, this has never happened before and now PP is running sooooooo slow.

I often film interviews in 4K so I can punch in for a close up when needed. I've dropped loads of 4K footage in a 1080 timeline and half the 4K shots are really grainy when I punch in for the close ups and half aren't. I cannot for the life of me work out what is causing this though. I think it has something to do with scaling the footage down to size. I always select scale to frame size as opposed to set to frame size, but I think both of these lose the resolution. It appears when I manually scale, this is what gives me crystal clear 4K. Has anyone experiences this?

Thanks for the response. So what you're saying is to drop the 25fps in my 23.976fps timeline and it should be ok? What frame rate should I export at? Also will this not put my audio track out of sync? Thanks Sam

Thanks for the answer. So I've reinterpreted my 25fps to 23.98fps. I've sped my audio track up to 107% and maintained pitch and it looks passable. What do you reckon? Does that sound ok?

Hi all, I shot two workshops recently and stupidly shot the both in different frame rates. What makes it a bit tricker is the audio is also recorded to a Zoom H4N not into the camera. I have already started working on the footage, just selecting the best vox pops and pulling out bits I like, but I am currently working on two sequences at once, one for the 23.976fps footage and one for the 25fps footage. How on earth do I blend them and keep audio in sync? I'll need to put them both into a sequence but I don't know where to start. I have no preference on export settings, this will be hosted on YouTube most likely. Please can someone save me here......! Sam

Hi community, So I have tried to add some closed captions (CEA-708) to a film I am working on. I have successfully used captions before in this format and have not had this experience before. All my channels are visible and the captions are enabled. When I go into the button editor I can find the Closed Captions Display button however this says 'not enabled' next to it and nothing happens when I click it. Can anyone advise? Thanks S

Hi Kevin, Many thanks for your detailed explanation, I really appreciate the advice. Unfortunately I think you may have opened a box of worms for many more questions haha. I think I will have to do a bit more reading up on the subject of codecs as I have absolutely no understanding of this subject currently. Regarding my footage though, I have just been scaling my 4K proxies to the frame size (using Scale to Frame option) and the footage looks and plays ok in my 1080p timeline. Is this ok for export or would you advise changing the codec of the 4K files? Thanks for your help. S

Hi guys, I'm fairly new to PP CC and very new to creating proxies. I recently recorded some 4K footage on a GH4 and will be editing with other footage, the majority of which is shot in 1080p. I have set my timeline to 1080p as that is what I will exporting in, I only filmed in 4K with the idea of scaling it down later anyway. I have my ingest settings to create proxies automatically for me when I import. I've been doing this for the 4K footage which is fine and then I imported a load of 1080p stuff without thinking and also created proxies, which isn't a problem, but my question is - Is there any point making proxies of 1080p footage? Further to this question, can I change my ingest settings mid project to just import regularly? And one more for luck, if I move the location of the proxies - so they're collated in another subfolder - will PP CC still know where they are and link them to the original files when I come to export?
