Hello fellas, So I created the horseshoe below, and I need to align the circles with the same space to the uneven shape, what is the best approach? I also want to replicate the figure in red, but the flag effect does not do it with a triangle and it only gives me 2 curves. Any trick to make it smooth from wide to narrow? Well, for me this is a major problem cause I create manuals for other people to reproduce things and I cannot put "even though that circle shows as 29.999 x 29.888 you must create it 30 x 30" Take a look at the image below for example, I have scaled down a compound shape and what was a simple circle in the middle is no longer centered or even:

Unbelievable how this is still an issue after many versions. I created 120 x 120 rectangles and separated them with a 30 px distance. The result? .0001 px in position and .0002 px added to size at the end. Can't understand what kind of math AI does to mess up a rounded result.

Well, that is a problem. Things are NEVER compatible between version, I've using AI for 9 years now and the times I've been able to import settings, shortcuts files or workspaces it's 0. It's never a charm to change versions cause you it will always fail.

Hello, I'm trying to import my shortcuts file from version 26 to another computer with version 24 and even though Illustrator lists the file, it shows empty: If I open the file in notepad, it does have my shortcuts: I tried pasting the file into the AppData\Roaming folder and also into the Keyboard Shortcuts one, but they show as Illustrator Defaults first and then empty when I close and open the program again as you can see here: https://recordit.co/Xrn9Qijafs

The problem is that it worked and failed on the same file. I got my work done by reducing the line length, creating a new line segment or cutting the lines separately as I saw it failed most when more than 2 lines were being intersected. This problem was so random that if I try to reproduce it, it works!

I align things by copying and pasting the X and Y position so maybe Illustrator can create a workaround based on that. With text I guess they would have to find a way to get those numbers cause each letter gets its own when the text is outlined, otherwise the position is from the box.

Thanks for your input, Jacob. Unfortunately that new bounding box works just as text, meaning if there's a lowercase p, that letter will be the middle to align: Hopefully Illustrator will bring an "Align to position" option feature one day, mixing the way I do it, but leaving text editable.

Well, the real problem is with the "expand" function which always messes up final results. Yes I can put a 320 line but the final width and circles will end up with decimals and circles are now paths with 3 extra anchor points in them so I need to use "real" circles and then align them again.

Hi Jacob, I know I can move a path, but one day I'm like "oh that looks perfect" and the next "wow that looks way far to the right" so maybe ai could figure it depending on the background shape. For number 2, I do have a way to align it perfectly, but it requires to outline the text and I'd wish to leave the text editable. Text boxes do not align correctly as the center depends of the last and first letter depending if it's located at the right or the left of the circle:

Hi Jacob! I had played a bit with the numbers, but I couldn't get an even result. The total width of the shapes + spaces should be 370 and I get 368.99 as you can see below. I always use round numbers to avoid decimals but somehow they are always there!

Hello fellas! When I use the Pathfinder > Outline and one line or path is at 45º they both literally disappear like if I had pressed delete. This does not happen when lines are at 0º and 90º as you can see here: http://recordit.co/z73iPU6Gaf I have no idea why this happens and how to fix it.
