Hello fellas!
When I use the Pathfinder > Outline and one line or path is at 45º they both literally disappear like if I had pressed delete. This does not happen when lines are at 0º and 90º as you can see here: http://recordit.co/z73iPU6Gaf
I have no idea why this happens and how to fix it.

What happens when you view this in outline view? Strokes get a weight of nearly zero applied when using Outline.

Unfortunately, the same 😞
Weirdly this ONLY happens if one line is at 45º

I ended up downloading a plug-in. Unbelievably I had to use a third party tool to get a simple task as cutting a path done.

You could have just posted the file and tell us what you want to do.And then most probably someone would have figured out a way.

Sorry, my file was 50 MB and it was easier for you or another person to try to replicate this on your own computer cause this is not a file but an Illustrator problem.

I cannot reproduce it.

I cannot reproduce it either.
You could have deleted parts of the file to make it smaller.
Did you check the Hide Bounding Box, Hide Edges options?

The problem is that it worked and failed on the same file. I got my work done by reducing the line length, creating a new line segment or cutting the lines separately as I saw it failed most when more than 2 lines were being intersected. This problem was so random that if I try to reproduce it, it works!

What is that link? It does not work.

It works if you copy it and paste it in your browser. Not sure why you can't click on it. I have included recordings all the times I had problems before, weren't you even looking at them?

Your first video works, your second doesn't.

I have watched your first video. THat's how I could try and build the same situation and then try if I could reproduce it. But I can't. That is why I have asked for the Illustrator file in which this is happening. You sent another video, which doesn't even show.
That way it's not possible to help you.
BTW: this is a public forum. 95% of people here are not Adobe staff, but trying to help in their spare time.

Is it necessary for those stroked open line segments to remain as such? Pathfinder operations typically work best on closed loop shapes. You could expand the line strokes into thin rectangles and weld those two objects together. Or you could try using the Path Offset command to create new offset vector shapes around those open line segments and then weld the new offset shapes together.
