I use this set up, it seems to work most of the time for multi-layer V-Ray EXR files: Project Settings Working Space set to sRGB or Rec.709 depending on your output. Linearize Working Space On. 32 Bit. In your comp have your layers set up like so: Any graphics sit at the top. Adjustment Layer: Color Profile Converter effect. Input and Output set to sRGB. Tick on the Linearize Output Profile. Adjustment Layer: OpenColorOI effect: Input Space: ACEScg. Output Space :sRGB. Adjustment Layer(s): all of your colour correction effects sit here adjusting the layers in ACEScg colour. Stack your Lighting, Reflection, Specular, Self Illumination etc, EXR passes here.   Please feel free to correct me though if the set up isn't totally correct, but it seems to work for me when I work with V-Ray passes and normal graphics from clients.   It looks like ACES colour is being fixed in the new beta versions of AE, lets just hope they've made it super simple to use as it is currently a right headache to get your head around it at first.   ... Just adding my bit... As Maya 2023 now renders with ACESCG as it's default with V-Ray 5, trying to composite up layered EXRs in the traditional method of adding the passes over each other to create the final beauty image [abuse removed by moderator]   Can we please get an update to Photoshop sometime soon that really simplifies the matter? I'd like to be able to drop an ACEScg coloured EXR from V-Ray for Maya in to Photoshop, simply add the passes/elements together (with whatever tweaks I'd like to make), and export it without having to add in fiddly, and usually incorrect, colour correction layers to get the image in Photoshop looking exactly how it does in the frame buffer.   Thank you. ... I've given up on Adobe fixing the issue, it's never going to happen. I did however find a decent, cheaper, alternative to the Frischluft one. Have a look on AeScripts for Fast Bokeh, the free version works correctly and the fairly cheap Pro version is great!  ... View more

I'm getting this really badly in CC2020. My PC is fairly beefy with the following specs, but I still have lag of like 1-2 seconds when selecting or dragging items, it becomes infuriating throughout the day! I also have issues of when I am moving/dragging items, because of the lag the item (for example a layer in or out point) seems to stick to the mouse so it's not accurate. Amen to that! Adobe, some of us work for studios who are not willing to go and buy plug-ins, so we rely on the tools that are luckily given to us (E.G creative cloud), it's not good enough when these tools don't work as they should especially when they are something as important as being able to use depth of field properly for compositing 3D shots. ... Ok so I've just opened up After Effects CC 2015, and opened up a project that uses a depth pass, and an adjustment layer with the Camera Lens Blur effect applied to it, and it STILL doesn't work properly.
