Hi, As the title says, I'm wondering if using screens and multiplies is computationally expensive. I'm making game art and I'm using a lot of screens and multiplies to create reflections and shadows and I'm really curious if this will be expensive to run (it's for a mobile game). Thanks in advance!

I'm glad my issue was repeatable. I've been importing these images into Unity (game engine), which recently began supporting SVGs. However, a member of Unity's team on the SVG integration said this: "I assume that illustrator will export the blend mode as a "mix-blend-mode" attribute, which we unfortunately don't support. From my understanding, you could probably achieve similar results by splitting your SVG file into multiple parts, and assign a custom shader with the blend mode properly configured to the sprites that requires a different blending." - Unity Team Rep. With that, thank you for mentioning "mix-blend-mode:" in your post and helping me!!

23.0.3 on MacOS. Maybe a bug idk. Nothing solves this problem, works fine with every other format except SVG. I opened the SVG in Firefox and the layers are all right. Lol? So... SVGs are being misread by my programs and not being altered in the export.

Export for Screens, Save As, Export Selection etc... All alter my Screen and Multiply -- changing them to 'Normal'. No matter which program I use to see the SVG outside of Illustrator, the results are the same -- Screen and Multiply changed to 'Normal'.

I export artboards as SVGs and my Screens and Multiplies are being changed to Normal. Any idea why??

Solved it. I added my png to my pattern set, then in the settings for the blending options of my outline I selected the pattern for my fill. Worked perfectly.

Hey, I want to make the fill of an outline an image. I have a watercolor paper background png that I wanted to make the outline of a little submarine. I'm having a hard time figuring it out. It's probably something simple. Thanks!

Hey there, I'm working on a project where we need to put watercolor clipping masks on 157 to 300+ frames for some animations and it's pretty arduous. I've done 40 frames and was wondering if there's a faster way to speed this up? So far the process goes as follows: open images center watercolor png over base layer clipping mask save to folder export as png to folder next images. Any help would be wonderful! Honestly, even if I could just automate CMD+S to automatically save it in a folder without me being prompted would save tons of time. Same for the Quick Export. That would be a huge time saver!

Thanks for responding! What’s happening is the shapes that make up my top layer have a transparency to them and you can see the layers underneath them. But every shape in my layers have a fill color and when I separate them apart, they all look the way they’re supposed to. The transparency only happens when I try to put what I want as my top layer on top. Instead of being in front, it becomes somewhat transparent and you can see the other layers underneath. If that made any sense lol.

Hi, I'm pretty new to illustrator and I'm running into a strange problem when I try to order my layers. The layer that I place on top in my layers panel is transparent. How can I fix this? I appreciate your help!
