If the font embedded in the PDF doesn’t include a ToUnicode map, you’ll typically see garbled characters or missing mappings. In that case, the PDF technically doesn’t expose character codes for extraction. Check if the Font is Embedded and Subset Some PDFs embed only a partial subset of the font. When that happens, glyphs may be present but not tied to a standard character code. That means if something changed on your network recently (proxy, VPN, certificate policies, firewall rules, TLS settings, etc.) it can cause Document Cloud integration to stop, even though browser access still works. As mentioned, it is a corporate license on a managed machine, and network/VPN/proxy filtering is a very common cause. The Scan app should always produce a PDF after tapping Terminer / Complete — so the .mhtml output indicates that the scan didn’t fully finish its processing workflow and instead exported the temporary web-view content. This usually happens when: The app crashes mid-processing Permissions or storage are interrupted The iOS share flow is triggered before the PDF render completes .mhtml isn’t a supported Acrobat mobile export format, so it’s definitely not expected behavior.   There is a scan frame limit in free mode, and when reached the app may: Stop processing new pages Crash or fail to compile the PDF (what you saw around page ~50) If you’re trying to scan 50–100 pages in one session, the app struggles due to: Memory usage Real-time OCR processing File stitching Most users work around this by scanning in batches (ex: 20 pages → save PDF → continue).   Installation stuck on Mac at 84%, this is unrelated to Scan, but seen often when: Gatekeeper permissions are waiting in System Settings A previous Acrobat install or updater is still running The installer needs Rosetta (on Apple Silicon) A reboot usually clears updater conflicts.   Unfortunately, there is no native Adobe conversion workflow for .mhtml on iOS. Hi there,   Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear you're running into this.   From what you've described, there are a couple of likely causes:   1. macOS Version Compatibility You mentioned you're on macOS 16 (Tahoe), but the Reader download page only lists up to macOS 15 (Sequoia). If you're running the newest macOS release, there's a good chance the current Adobe Reader .dmg isn’t marked as compatible yet, which can lead to the “Operation not permitted” mount failure. This does happen briefly after new macOS releases until installers are updated. 2. macOS Security / Gatekeeper Blocking macOS can also block disk images that aren't notarized for the current OS. This can trigger the exact behavior you’re seeing, especially with “Operation not permitted”. You can check Security settings here: System Settings > Privacy & Security Look for: “AdobeReader.dmg was blocked…” and allow it if present. Things you can try: 1. Re-download from the new unified installer link https://adobe.ly/49uS5DO and see if that helps.   2.  Allow Gatekeeper manually Try opening via right-click: Right-click .dmg → Open If prompted, choose Open again If Terminal still fails, the disk image likely isn't compatible. PDF Editing Behavior Changed In Acrobat Pro the newer “Edit PDF” workflow doesn’t let you directly select/delete native vector lines unless they’re part of an editable object. Many blueprint PDFs are actually flattened drawings (like scanned maps or exported CAD drawings), so Acrobat may treat them differently than before. 2. Selection Box Instead of Line/Object What you’re seeing (the big selection box) usually means Acrobat is detecting the entire drawing as one image layer rather than individual lines. That’s why it feels random and harder to select. 3. Performance Slowness Blueprint PDFs are often large with complex vector paths, and the Acrobat sometimes takes longer to render those. A few settings may help:   Go to Preferences (Ctrl,Cmd+K)> Page Display uncheck “Use Page Cache” Under Rendering, select Smooth Line Art  and uncheck “Smooth Images”   Also go to Preferences (Ctrl,Cmd+K) > Enhanced Security Uncheck “Enable protected mode at startup” temporarily and see if that helps.   If you need to remove specific lines or objects: Open the PDF > Go to “Print Production” (if not visible, enable it under Tools) and Try “Edit Object” This mode behaves more like legacy Acrobat DC for vector-based PDF objects. There are a few common reasons why links might work for the creator but not for others: 1. Link Type (Local vs. Web URLs): Sometimes designers accidentally set links to local file paths (e.g., pointing to a file on their computer) instead of a proper web URL. Those will only open on their machine. 2. Application Used to View the PDF: Not all PDF viewers support interactive links the same way. If the designer is checking in Adobe Acrobat/Reader, but others are using browsers, Preview (Mac), or 3rd-party viewers, the links may not behave correctly. Important note: If the document was shared with others or stored under an organization-managed (enterprise) account, your organization’s IT or admin policies may affect access or retention.
