Hi @JohnColombo and @Kevin-Monahan After Effects 25.3 update for mac still does not resolve this issue. Now, no error is logged, aerender stops the process with no aparent reason or log. in the picture below you can see a completed compsition and below it the same comp with the Ciname 4D engine is selected. @ The process starts and quits aerender fail on C4D 3d engine I'll be glad to be contacted to help and solve this issue. This affects all aernder users who use C4D render engine on mac (studios mainly) Thanks in advance

Hi @JohnColombo Thank you for checking this out. The error that logged on both cases is: aerender Error: After Effects error: layer does not have a source. After that aerender just quits I am using aerender though Render Brain plugin from the creative cloud (I am the developer) that worked perfect until this version or the one before it. We downgraded to v25.0.1 to continue with our rendering pipeline

aerender no longer renders compoistions from projects with Cinema4D 3d render engine or tiff sequences. It doesn't matter if the composition does not uses this render engine or sequence, if the project contains them none will render (macOs).

Hi to all I am trying to add FFMPEG binary to may CEP extension. But every time my extension executes FFMPEG MacOS halts the process because it is identified as malware or cannot assure it is not a malware. I use a signed binary downloded directly from the official site and use it as is with no alteration. How can I make sure MacOS will allow this without the end user get this OS alert. Thanks in advance!

When using aereneder to render sequences log file omitts random data from log file. Although it renders all frames, log data loss can affect rendering automation and may cause false reports of non rendered frames and incomplete renders. When rendering video files this bug does not happen. In the attached files you can see that some frames were not logged as rendered, and in the other log file it seems like the render did not finish. In both renders that created these log files all frames were rendered correctly. Hi to all I have a CEP bundle I developed that is made out of two panels with different ids. Encountered a strange issue on Windows machines only: When manually closing one panel the other panel remains but goes blank/empty - all the buttons disappear and all functionality stops. Any advice on how to solve this? Thanks!

There are a few mentioned script that can do that. If this is something you do regularly I highly recommend AnySubs the can deal with multiple subtitle files (SRT, XML, TXT) and uses the selected text layer design: https://www.vdodna.com/products/anysubs/

If you create an extension you can load it automatically when app loads up (same as startup folder script) by using the: <Event>applicationActivate</Event> in the extension xml file.

Unfortuletly not... Aperrently Mac OS does not support es3 ExtendScript fully anymore (socketwise) So I moved to CEP panels coding - that can incorperate NodeJS and now it is possible to use sockets in more stable manner across OS platforms. This is what made Render Brain possible- for network rendering in After Effects. I hope this help Cheers!

I encountered that also, it happens with multiple installations of the same font or moving a project from machine to machine (mainly Mac to PC) I suggest finding the fonts replicas in your OS or as mentioned, using a script like FontMate

Hi! I’m coding some servers for After Effects and I encountered a problem. On windows os everything goes smooth but I’m having some trouble using the same code on a mac. I narrowed down the issue to the socket listen() function Here is a small part of a code that returns “true” on a PC but returns “false” on a Mac: conn = new Socket(); alert (conn.listen(8080)) Any help would appreciated!

There is a new Script to do this, just as True Comp Duplicator but straight from the timeline: True Layer Duplicator, It's 100% Free! You just need to select a comp based layer from the timeline, press Ctrl/Cmd+Alt+D to duplicate a layer and it's inner hierarchy. Cheers!
