I found the GPU folder using a search, deleted the TempDisableGPU2 and everything seems to be working again. Thanks to the community. Cheers

Working this morning through normal work flow: Bridge to Camera Raw to Photoshop. Sat down an hour later and got this message when trying to open a raw file: "Camera Raw Requires GPU." In CR Performance window Use Graphics Processor is "OFF" and grayed out. GPU is "compatible". Tried to follow instructions above, no GPU folder in Camera Raw Application support. Any ideas? I have not had a recurrence of the problem. My best guess at the moment is that it was not a problem with Photoshop per se but with the communication between Photoshop and the Canon printer plug-in. I reinstalled the latest plug-in and haven't had any problems since.

I am running Photoshop 2020, latest update, on a Mac running High Sierra 10.13.6. I am processing small (20-50 mb) files using two actions that I have used for quite some time with different iterations of Photoshop. At random intervals photoshops stops responding to mouse commands - moving layers, selecting different tools, while still responding to keyboard commands. I have deselected the GPU processor and increased the RAM to 85%. If I quit and restart everything works until it doesn't. Any ideas?

Let's just assume there is a reason that we are using the CMYK + spot. (For examples of what we are doing look at either the 3 volume MoMA publication surveying their photography collection or the New Orleans Museum of Art's "Looking Again". I don't think I was clear that the shadow is a custom drawn layer incorporated in the original photoshop file. But I will look into InDesigns drop shadow settings. You are correct about the proofing. But I have found that the GMG rip combine with press proofs gets us to the ballpark. Thanks for your reply.

I have printed a few museum catalogs using CMYK plus a spot color, usually a dark gray. The images are usually cropped simply or silhouetted with a path and saved as tiff files. I am now working on a more complicated project. We are planning to use the same kind of CMYK + spot but they now have a custom drop shadow (layer 2) supplied a a layer all of which will overprint on a gray background in Indesign. The original files are RGB tiff files which I am saving as PSD before I start work on them. If I bring the original RGB file or convert to CMYK the image including the drop shadow look correct in Indesign. In other words the image and shadow read correctly on top of the gray background. The RGB and CMYK files have an image surrounded by a transparent background. When I add a spot channel it comes up with a white background and when I bring it into InDesign the show gets wonky. Any ideas.

I have installed PS 2019 on my iMac running High Sierra 10.13.6. When I add an adjustment layer (I have only tested Curves and Hue/Saturation) the "View Previous State" toggle (the eye with the arrow) does not toggle back and forth between the current state and the previous when I click on it. In PS 2018 I could change the curve and then toggle backend forth to see the change. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Thomas

I was having the same issue in PS 2019 - normal crop tool locked into a ratio. Thank you for pointing out the "shift after moving a corner" fix. However in the work I do I am rarely cropping to a fixed ratio. Is there a way to make free form cropping the default in PS 2019, i.e. the same as it was in PS 2018? Thank you
