Another day another multiple uninstall and reinstall of PS just to get filters to work! I have tried everything suggested with the exception of moving to Bridge. That's probably next since the uninstall, clean, reinstall, uninstall, clean, reinstall routine is getting extremely old.

Can I use presets in Bridge like I do in Lightroom? I have a whole host of preset brushes I use in LR that are part of my look.

Yes I have been opening images from LR. I sometimes have had to open PS first because the option to edit in PS was greyed out in LR but I have not paid attention to if there is an correlation with the greyed out filters in PS. I'll look at that going forward. Thank you.

Hi Trevor. The Cleaner Tool is confusing. I took these steps as instructed. Remove PS CC. Reboot the computer. Open Cleaner tool as Admin. e for English, Y to agree. Then I have two very confusing menus that ask me what I want to clean. Both menus have a list of Adobe products including several CS versions, All CC apps, All, Lightroom Classic, etc but none for PS CC so in the end I have to quit cleaner without having made a clear selection on what needs to be cleaned. I have tried cleaning All CC apps and that also removes Lightroom Classic and the results were no more successful, just more work.

This is incredibly frustrating. I am having the same problem. All attempted fixes that appear to work are only temporary. Presently I am uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop everyday. This works most of the time, but not all the time! Sometimes I have to reinstall 2 or 3 times before filters will work. Today one of my installed actions was missing one of its steps and the filters were greyed out again. Adobe does not appear to be addressing this issue. Time to start looking at competing products as I cannot afford this kind of time just to get the program to work every day. Hey Adobe! Are you listening? OK. Finally! After numerous attempts to get Windows updates (still not complete), troubleshoot my computer, etc, I finally checked one last time in the files and folders under Lightroom in the file tree looking to perhaps launch by clicking on a catalog there and found a lock folder I had not found before. Deleted that and tried to launch LR and tadah! It worked!

Lightroom opened with new catalog but that has no photos in it. I closed LR and relaunched to the same old error message. I do not know how to turn on GPU support on this windows computer so I assume it is not on.

Says to choose a different catalog. Adobe instructions say to find the lrcat.lock files and move them to trash. Found 2 of them and removed them to trash. Lightroom still will not launch. Same error message. Cannot find any more lock files to remove. What next?

Just updated Photoshop and Lightroom CC yesterday, April 12th. Today did my first edit since the update. Right click in Lightroom. Hit Edit in Photogshop. Image opened in Photoshop. Did edits. Hit control S to save. Before the update this always resulted in my edited copy being saved in Lightroom beside my original. Now I can't find it anywhere. What do I need to do?
