I have the same problem since the CS update outputting a high res (or low res) PDF from InDesign - a PNG created in Photoshop is defaulting to a totally broken up low res pixellated image.  Looks OK on screen using "High Quality Display" mode but PDF output is unusable. PNG file is saved as 300dpi. If PNG default output has changed to 72dpi, how are we supposed to know? ... View more

Hi I've had the same problem as many others since CC came in. Unfortunately even the new updates hasn't fixed the problem - I can hardly believe that Adobe have had this issue for so long! Totally unprofessional. For instance, I'm working on a 64pp printed brochure that I also have to add hidden social media hyperlinks to when I upload a pdf online (also uploaded to joomag to make an interactive e-book). I've unchecked the "check links before opening document" in the file handling prefs and at best I get the beachball every time I scroll a page. I've even deleted a load of pages when opening a largish brochure with about 120 hyperlinks and left in only 20 or so hidden hyperlinks but it's the same. I'm now getting crashes too. So it's worse than ever! My only workaround is to turn off the hyperlink panel when editing, then make a copy in order to save all the hidden hyperlinking until last (I'll have to hope that works OK). Hi Samen and all I do believe there are still issues. I had reverted back to CS6 and all was fine, no probs. I just wasn't prepared to lose deadlines and fight the software, hence being quiet. Dinkar at Adobe and I have exchanged a couple of emails and basically even after deleting IDCC prefs from the Library folder (making sure it's the User folder - type: ~/library” ) it was still having intermittent issues. What's odd is that I have now done a clean install on a brand new all-singing 27" imac SSD with 24GB RAM (fast at everything) and there seems to be a similar issue between Adobe Typekit and Suitcase. I wonder if that's the problem. Typekit keeps "interfering" when I open a document. ... View more

I have IDCC now working much smoother although it has crashed a couple of times. I basically did a Cmd R restart and repaired/verified my hard disk before normal reboot. I have found it lasts until I restart in the a.m. after a sleep - if I have left documents open as usual, I can work on them until I copy something from one into another. It then hangs. Weirdly at the same time, I can watch my background folders in Finder do a little "pulse" thing while I am watching the beachball, as if it's trying to save something but can't quite complete it. So I force quit and restart and it seems fine. The workspace changes and I lose my open palettes but so far it has behaved a bit more (Advanced Workspace seems stable). Three days now and it's been OK. I do think that Mavericks has caused some network issues with IDCC but it seems to be OK at the moment. I'm even able to use Suitcase and highlight text without waiting forever. ... View more

I'm going to take a good look at the system over the weekend but frankly for my daily use, I can't see any real improvements in CC, so until I'm certain it's OK, won't be rushing to use it. Hi all Same old same old…Just upgraded to Indesign CC latest version and if anything it's worse than the last version!. Just awful. There definitely seems to be something going on with palettes and font management but surely that's what the experts are there for? Tabbing the tools open and closed used to help, now it just takes so long to redraw that I'm giving up CC until there's a proper solution. Thankfully I had a paid copy of CS6 on my system and although I'll now have to re-save any new work I managed to do since upgrading as .idml files, at least I can function. CS6 feels SO smooth and lovely after CC. Probably 1000% better. For anyone on a deadline (who isn't?), it seems it's the only viable solution. It's only Indesign, not Illustrator or Photoshop, also in daily use. If it's a font issue, why are they OK? I'm running a 27" 2.7GHz i5 iMac, 12GB RAM, Suitcase 16.1.0 ... View more
