I think the better argument is for the sake of consistency... to all previous versions of Photoshop (and the expected beahavior because of that) and also to every other format that can be saved out of Photoshop where embedding the profile is an option... that box is checked by default. At the very least, I'd like to have the option to make it the default behavior... given Photoshop's history if it being so. ... View more

Yes, of course, the option to embed profiles is there. My point was that it is not enabled by default as it always has been in previous versions of Photoshop. I'm forced to manually select it each time I save as a PNG, and that manual selection is not recordable with Actions. So my question to you with “Absolutely no issues...”, did you have to manually select that Embed Color Profile option or was it pre-selected when you saved as PNG? ... View more

I can't believe this still hasn't been fixed in 23.02, but it is killing my workflow and actions that saving as a PNG doesn't have Embed Color Profile enabled by default as in every other version of Photoshop until 23.   Fix please? ... View more

I called Adobe support about this a year ago and was told they were aware of the issue and it would be resolved in a future update... which wasn't entirely a lie for those that still use MacOS Catalina or previous. The frustration for me is that after updating to 22.3.1, I worked for 4 hours yesterday without encountering this issue, came here to post my success and went back to work only to encounter the issue every. single. time. Adobe is engaging in a sadistic form of tantric debugging... keeping us at bay for an interminable period of time before releasing us from frustration. It took them 5 years into the widespread availability of retina displays to finally retool vector paths in Photoshop to not get lost as gray hairline slivers with impossible-to-grab control handles. I fully expect them to have this solved for Big Sur... when the next MacOS is well into its 3rd update. So, now that I've had a few days with Big Sur, I've found that sometimes it is selected, and sometimes not. No discernible rhyme or reason as to when or why. `As much as I want to keep everything to the keyboard, I've found that consistently, I can double-click the filename, and it selects ONLY the filename, without the extension. (triple-click will select filename + extension).  Not ideal, but at least I don't have to drag highlight just the filename, which was annoying, since my filenames can be long and extend beyond that painfully short filename window... which is yet another annoyance. ... So this productivity glitch takes a bigger hit in MacOS Big Sur... Now, the filename isn't even selected by default. But like magic, if you hit the tab button 3 times, the filename highlights... aaand so does the extension. Same glitch, now 100% more complicated to overcome. ... View more

I finally called Adobe yesterday about this, since the latest release (7 months into CC 2020) did nothing to address this problem. They actually ARE aware of the issue, it's a known MacOS Catalina incompatibility, that I was told will be addressed in a future release. They then patted me on the head, gave me a cookie and said, "now run along and let us laugh behind your backs at the money we rake in while frustrating you to no end".
