Thank you for reporting. This is likely a quality issue with the Boost slider (just under the bokeh buttons). Please try reducing Boost and see if the problem goes away. (Note that currently Boost can only be adjusted in the "desktop" versions of Lightroom, not on mobile).

Out of curiosity, were those areas slightly blurred (out of focus) in the captured photo? We currently have some quality issues blurring areas like this when they start with existing optical blur from the lens they were captured with.

There should be an "Apply" checkbox above the blur amount slider that activates the Lens Blur feature for that photo by estimating scene depth and subject placement. The other lens blur controls, including blur amount, will be disabled until Apply is checked and depth estimation has completed.

You can find a brush tool for making corrections to the estimated depth, and therefore returning some areas to focus and making some areas blurry, by expanding the "Refine" tools at the bottom of the lens blur panel.

The corrections made to the depth map are relative to the current focal range that is set and they will automatically update if you make changes to the focal range. For example, the Focus brush will change the depth values to be just inside the current focal range (and therefore no longer blurred). The Blur brush will change depth values to be outside of the focal range and similar to surrounding "background" depth values so that the amount of blur matches. For the Blur brush, you can extend the Amount to 200 to set the brushed depth values all the way to the furthest background depth.

Can you share more details about what you are looking for here? It sounds like you are asking for something like the existing depth range mask feature, but that currently only works with photos that have an embedded depth map (such as iPhone portrait mode photos).

Try reducing the Boost slider under the bokeh options. It's possible some of the brighter details in the clouds are getting detected as "light sources" and boosted so they are more visible when blurred.

If you're only seeing the older process versions as years, with 2012 labeled as current, it sounds like you might still be in Lr CC 2015 (6.x). Can you confirm that you are using the new Lr Classic CC (7.0) when you are seeing the old process versions?

Yes, Range Mask works on JPG as well as raw files. Is it possible that the Range Mask controls are scrolled out of view (they're at the bottom of each local adjustment pane)?

You should see the Range Mask controls at the bottom of the panel for each local adjustment. If you don't, please double check that the image you are editing is set to the current Process Version (PV 4 with this release).

You are correct that the new version of Lightroom CC does not currently include Merge functionality (HDR and Pano) at this time. However, the same merge operations that are in Lightroom Classic CC are also in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR). First, you will need to save your originals out so that you can get them into ACR using "Save To..." in the File menu in Lightroom CC. At that point, the easiest way to get the images into ACR is to navigate to your exported photos in Bridge CC, select the images you want to merge, then choose "Open in Camera Raw" from the File menu. Once in ACR, select the images you want to merge, then right-click on one of the thumbnails and choose "Merge to HDR..." or "Merge to Panorama...". Josh
