Hello, in Indesign using EasyCatalog, I would like to create a shortcut key that opens a new excel file data source (file>new>EasyCatalog panel>New File Data Source...) I see there is one for new library in the assign shortcut keys menu but not for the data source, but I would like one for the data source. I don't see it as an option. Is this possible, or could there be a script written to open these? Screenshots are attached. Thanks!

HELLO, I have the same issue, copied the script above, but how do I assign a key command for it? It doesnt show up in key command menu. Or am I in the wrong menu?

I was able to reset the preferences and It is working correctly for now. I have windows 10, version 1089 installed. Attached is the image of the specs. Shortcuts weren't working across the board, and tools/preferences were slow. I do use only a few personalized shortcuts, those were slow also. Updating the windows system is not available for us as of now, we use an extension in Indesign that does not have a current update within windows. Updated to CC Photoshop 22.4.2 and keyboard shortcuts are not working correctly, I usually have to click them about 3 times--they may work then, but not always. Bad idea that the transform tool and selecton outline is gone too. If i select an area twice, it shows up. are we to beleive something is selected? In using select all, no outline is visible, but if you click and drag over the selection points, (center edge, or corners) the selection shows while dragging. then this duplicate selection square shows. (If I'm really missing something here let me know)---see atached. experiencing extreme slowness in working files too. Why change tools that work perfectly??? Using CC, Windows 10.

While trying to export an image for web/legacy, it wont work and I get an error box--the operation could not be completed, no matter what type of file.

I just encountered thi screen today, making an interactive pdf. Never before. I already have reading on current page only and enable assistave technology UN-CHECKED. It stil pops up. and i cannot paste into my interactive pdf, where i could previously.

Maybe I'm missing something, or just don't know about it (which is probably the case...), but when I use space bar to bring up the hand tool in Indesign 2020 (while the selection pointer is selected), the page zooms out--with a red outline square, instead of just moving the page around. I have to wait until the zoom is done, then it moves around fine. Using CC2020, Windows 10.

Hello, I am trying to find out how to hyperlink to multiple web pages for different items in a catalog, using pagination, through InDesign. Is this possible without having to paste in each hyperlink separately as a new hyperlink in InDesign? I also do not want the hyperlink visible in the InDesign document, or pdf that will be made to upload to the web. Any direction that can help will be appreciated! Thank you!

Yes that all makes sense, and it did open andI could package it fine. So the best solution would be to start with a new clean document. If I do that and copy paste items from the old document, will it still cause problems? Thank you! I worked on a Mac about 3 years ago. We had a trial version, about 4 years ago (when I used a mac.) We have 1 person who does use XMPie, but no one else has the program, it was never installed on my PC. When I migrated to a PC all the programs were fresh installs. Here is file june20.indd--I attached it in the first thread, with only 3 pages, yet it still wont package.

I get this error when trying to package indesign cc2020 files, XMPBackEndCC15.InDesignPlugin is missing. How do i fix it so I can package the files? I do not use it, and have not installed it. I have saved files as IDML files, but they wont open after creating them. I am using windows 10 17763.1217 OS, all programs and windows are currently updated. I do have extension manager, yet it does not show up in Indesign windows/extensions.

This happens to me too, using 15.0.1, when I minimize my Indesign, and then go back to it, none of my shortcut keys work unless i type some or change text first.

I upgraded to indesign 2020 and even before this my files open off screen and much larger than my monitor. I thought this would have been fixed in the 2020 version. Anyone know a fix for this? I am using Windows 10 So I tried everything even working full screen, and files still open HUGE, like 2 monitors worth, and off the screen. I attached a shot of how files open when in full screen. will Indesign ever fix this? is there somewhere i can report this?
