This message is due to "Screen layouts used in this output are missing from the Settings file" - It appears because you have skipped one step of selecting the layout before publishing. File > Publish Responsive Layout > (right click) > Edit Settings > Manage Layout > New > Select either of Azure blue or Charcoal Grey OK > Save and Close Now publishing should give an output with no errors. We have investigated the issue at our end. The issue seems to be a mix of tagged pdf combined with shading of table cells. When we try to do these WORKAROUND SOLUTIONS - ALL text appears in the output: Generating untagged PDF: Turning off the tagged PDF option while generating PDF Generating tagged PDF with all tags: Shift >> include all the para tags to be included in the tagged para list Generate tagged PDF with specific tags. In this case, adding "ListItem_Bullets" to the list helps. This is because it is applied on the text just before the erroneous cells. More investigations are on, but wanted to inform you of the interim findings if any of them seem workable for you. Do let us know if this helps.

Hi Niels, We had investigated this issue earlier, not sure if this is related to "Courier" font usage in your files: The reason behind the "Offending Command" could be due to a Font family “Courier” used in those documents. “Courier New” should be used in place of “Courier” from Windows 7 onwards. If the references of "Courier" is replaced with “Courier New” then the save as pdf should get corrected. Let us know if it helps. Also pls mention the bug# you logged. Regards, Amit

Hi Chris, The 0.5" indent you need to give is only to H2TOC to differentiate their levels they are at. When H2TOC has more indent than H1TOC then it comes in a hierarchical way. One of the examples can be found in FM samples. Output Generated from FM Samples: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\AdobeFrameMaker2015\Samples\MoreSamples\Books\Bkstyle2\Bk2.book would give you an idea of it. The TOC generated would be hierarchical. Hi John, Thanks for sending us your file. Yes, investigations are still on. We haven't nailed it yet. But it seems like a font-specific issue: because when we change fonts of the table cells - the text comes in the resultant PDF. Also, it could be an Acrobat issue or may be something to do with Microsoft Windows. I am afraid you would have to work with the current workarounds, as of now: Save as review PDF Print to PDF or with changing fonts of the table cell

Is it a book file or single fm file? Which acrobat version is installed on the machine? Does your machine has thousands of fonts? When you change the font of the source file (portion thats not getting published) - does it appear in PDF? Does changing any "Save as PDF" setting result in success? Hi Mike, We tried it on English for a simple dita xml file - it seems to work OK for CHM and Webhelp output on English locale on Win10. The square root sign appears correctly. It be something to do with the default fonts of the system? Which locale are you on? This seems system specific. Pls try with some other system too if you get the same issue.

Jason, We have introduced a TOC related bug in Fm 13.0.3 update where in the unstructured books TOC is not generated in Structured mode. As a workaround it is requested to work in the Unstructured Mode for Unstructured books: 1. Edit > Preferences > Product Interface > Select FrameMaker > Restart FM 2. Open Book > Update > Should work We are working for an early update for the same.

When the 188 rows data are being fetched in a row-wise fashion, would it be possible to send a key event "CTRL"+j just after pasting data in each row of FM?. Hi, 1. The TOC at same level: To create TOC navigation levels in a TOC in FM Publish Outputs, we need to tweak either the First indent, font size or weight property. We determine TOC level by setting any of these Para Tag properties: - First Indent, - Font Size, - Font Weight i.e. So If you wish to have Heading3 appear inside Heading2 like this: Heading3 Heading2 In Para Designer >> Update Para Designer properties of these 2 tags (Heading2TOC, Heading3TOC): - First Indent of Heading2TOC greater than Heading3TOC - Or Font Weight of Heading2TOC less than Heading3TOC - Or Font Size of Heading2TOC less than Heading3TOC 2. The Enable Browse Sequence option enables the arrows for navigation. Try turning On the "Enable Browse Sequence" option. (apply latest Patch, Help > Updates) 3. Once you create your TOC, you would see the Chapter Title starts appearing in the breadcrumbs. The main effort you might need to do is to create a levelled TOC once that is done it should fix the issues you are facing. Amit

Thanks for reporting the bug to us. Yes, currently we have a limitation of not able to preserve the .svg brought from the reference pages in the published output. They have to be rasterized before output generation. Would it be possible to use a temporary workaround of: using them directly on the body page referring some other image type (after conversion of svg to other image type) from the ref-page Meanwhile we will explore more to see if there are other workarounds too. One can find out the property to be edited in the .css by: Open the output in Chrome browser Select the text >> Right Click >> Inspect Exploring the elements would give an indication of the element in use To make the Parent folders bold we may follow these steps: Open Output Setup Pod Select "Azure_Blue" or any layout in use Press expand + button Edit Layout.css Change the property of "body.media-desktop div.toc-holder ul li.book" as bold Publishing now to Responsive HTML5 would make the parent folders bold.
