Greg - what you've suggested is how to fix the effects of a bug in PSE - the feature exists for Macs too. Thank you for that, however - I was hoping Adobe might address some longstanding bugs, particularly in newer versions of the software. So no - this does not address the root cause of the problem.

I successfully converted from PSE 24 to PSE 26 with a catalog of 211,000+ objects. Everything was good. However, the name of the converted Catalog was "2024 Catalog 1" which was not to my preference. I followed Adobe's advice for how to rename - and have done so to "2026 Catalog 2" - as this was my second attempt to cleanly rename. Well after the rename - every time I enter Organizer, I receive the attached error message - which I can just bypass - and open the catalog normally from the Manage Catalog Dialog Box. I've tried to Optimize the 2026 Catalog 2 (that worked fine), yet I still get the annoying error messge even after the optimize. I'd prefer to maintain one catalog (more effective searching) - if possible. It seems to me that the Rename feature introduced a problem into the 2026 Catalog 2. Any advice?

Happy to. With PSE 26 and Tahoe 26.2 I am having the error in attribution occur with simple editing of jpg files, unlike prior versions bugs. I find it disappointing that Adobe can't fix this problem for the most current release. I might give them some lee-way for older releases.. but I'm not sure they ever made the attempt, even when PSE 24 was the current release. I am happy to provide any helpful background information if Adobe is going to tacke a fix.

Greg, thank you - and yes you can do the same on a Mac. However, I'm trying to avoid this unnecessary work by having Adope PSE 2026 not erroneously change the attribute. PSE 2024 had this similar behavior - but for HEIC files. I view this as a bug. Regardless, thank you for your kind reply.

When saving a copy of an edited photo, the time attribute is shifted by 5 hours (I think) from the original file prior to edit. How can I save a copy and have the time attribute the same as the original file (which seems to me to be correct). Incidentally, the date attribute seems fine.

Well, I find Adobe's apparent lack of customer-focus disappointing. I have provided keys to reproducing the problem (saving from Editor) - and am quite happy to respond to Adobe questions. Other vendors - Sonos, Apple - tend to make customer issues easy to report and own customer issues to respond - and yes, sith some issues, the result is the problem will not be resolved. They do tend to resolve issues when the version of the software is the same as the operating system. This lack of customer sensitivity may come back to impact's Adobe's business down the road. Maybe I'll use an Adobe management contact that actually helped me with a prior problem. Maybe I'll consider alternate vendors to support my photographic needs. Thank you, Michel. From my perspective - the assignment of dates worked fine - then did not. The corruption only took place as the photo was edited by Editor - upon save, it had been correct previously. So.. that seems to me to be an Adobe software issue. And - if I knew how to submit a bug to Adobe - I would. But they certainly don't make it easy - and even a Google search for reporting software bugs leads me here.

I received this advice from Adobe and struggled to have a dialog with the sender(s): To manage your notifications, click here. If this link doesn't work, Log on to Adobe Community. Click My Profile. Click the Subscriptions and notifications tab. Change your settings and click Save Changes. I’m wondering if this will get me notifications limited to PhotoShop Elements/Premiere compatibility with OS’s. I suspect not - but may be wrong. Rather I was encouraging a single place on the myriad of Adobe web-pages where this information can ALWAYS be found, on demand. Does this exist?

Where to look to EASILY determine what OS's Adobe certifies the software will run under? Why does Adobe make this HARD to determine? With each OS upgrade - it is much more of a hassle to find Adobe's crisp advice than I feel it should be.. I'm holding off on the OS upgrade until I can get helpful information.

No - could not launch from Finder.. tried that.. however.. I successfully used Adobe Chat Support - the issue was file permissions somehow were alterred - the Adobe Support Technician fixed the permissions issue and I'm back editing photos.

Has Adobe a solution for simple file editing extensions being automatically applied under Catalina? Used to (under Mojave) get the editing suffix automatically appled. Not any longer.. I suspect this is owing to 64 bit warnings I've been getting for a long time and Adobe software. WELL, the time has come, Catalina is here. What do you recommend Adobe?

Mike, I appreciate the responses.. however.. I believe the issue is intrinsic to Elements. Things have improved slightly.. not owing to lessening the load on my iMac, but I think owing to allowing Elements to catch up with background processing of newly imported and attributed pics. With Elements 2019 - is there an option to stop the program from trying to import photos from watched folders without turning any other background processing off? Answer that please and I'll be happy with your kind responses. Thanks in advance...

Mike, Thank you for the prompt response - will try your advice on batches. I believe I have 16 GB of memory available. Something recently got noticeably worse. I was wondering if any of the background PhotoShop Elements processes (not all exceedingly helpful) could be getting in the way - and I could improve flattening performance (typically done one at a time after editing) could be improved by shutting them down.
