I have the latest update installed.... All of the sudden it is taking 10-20 secinds for a jpeg image to open in camera raw.... any help is appriciated... tia....dave

Hello... I have searched and cannot find an answewr to this question.... I recently had a new computer built and I reinstalled my CC photoshop, lightroom and bridge. BEFORE I made this change, when I opened a photo (shot on a Canon 5dsr 50MP camera) my files would open with the following demensions... 8688ppi x 5792ppi @ 300ppi resulting in a photo size of 28.96in x 19.307in..... NOW, after the new computer build and photoshop, lightroom and bridge 2020 install..... my files open with these demesions.... 8688ppi x 5792ppi @ 240ppi... with a resulting size being 36.2in x 24.133in.... I know this may be trivial and I know I can easily change the files size to 300ppi after I open them...... BUT..... my question is, HOW do I set photoshop to open the file automatically to the 300ppi demesions??? I am used to my previous work flow and having them open at the 300ppi demensions is wha I am used to for my workflow and what I prefer to have... any and all help is appriciated.... thank you for that... however, I do NOT open photoshop with the default screen.. so is there a way to have it open for PRINT in the classic view as I have it opening now... see my screen shot above for how it looks when I open... thanks...Dave

I do NOT use the new document default page... I have mine set to open directly into photoshop workspace... i use the drop down menu to "open a new" document... I have reset and re-installed with the newest update...

I've been using Photoshop since ver 4... I have a pretty good idea how it works.... PRIOR to updating to ver 2019, ANYTIME I created a document ... such as 12 in x 24 in x 300ppi.... and saved or closed THAT image... the very next time I opened a NEW document, the settings automatically defaulted to 12 in x 24 in x 300ppi.... same is true if I created a document at 24 in x 48 in x 200ppi... After I closed THAT document... then opened a NEW document Photoshop would open with 24 in x 48 in x 200ppi....It wasn't until AFTER installing the update that Photoshop started opening EVERY new document as 1843 PIXELS x 2911 PIXELS x 240.005 PPI.... and this is NOT a download bug... because I have re-installed the latest version... so I am baffled... Thanks again for the help and suggestions so far....

I have PS CC2019... EVERY time I open a "new document" the defult settings are as follows Name= Untitled-1 Document type= Clipboard width=1843 PIXELS Height = 2911 PIXELS Resolution = 240.005 Pixels/Inch color mode= RGB Color 8 Bit Background contents= white So my question is.... HOW do I get this document field to open ALWAYS in INCHES.... NOT pixels ???? I have tried setting the units and rulers to inches... that does NOT change anything... I have tried to save a document AFTER I change to inches... then reopen... still opens in PIXELS.. additionally, even AFTER I change the Units and Rulers to inches... after working a document... closing PS... and then re-opening PS... it re-opens in PIXELS again... WTF... Frustrated... TIA...Dave
