I forwarded your response to a local tech guy who has been trying to help me and he says that I have not given you all pertinent info -- so I asked him to compose a response for me -- to articulate the problem more concisely. I am an absolute newbie at this and don’t know the jargon very well (the project I am working on is part of a junior college class assignment in the digital media program). I am not even certain of how best to respond to this thread – whether here or on the adobe site, or if which even matters – but here goes: “Thank you for your suggestions. I do have Quicktime installed and I tried converting the video into the .mp4 format - unfortunately the problem persists. Out of curiosity, I also tried a totally different video file, in the .m2ts format - and experienced the same thing. So it seems the problem is not specific to the .mov format, but rather to video files in general. I am able to drag .wav audio files onto the multi-track session without issue, but every video I've tried has caused Audition to crash.” In the meantime I will try sending the error log info to the Adobe programmers as you suggest – thanks for that info also. ...
