Siince having a new laptop [Asus GL 553VD windows 10 64 bit operating system, Driver version 416.16] ] I have had increasing problems with both Photoshop and Lightroom. My Adobe is version 5 and I have a Nvidia GTX1050 graphics system. I never know when either will crash out and sometimes I am in the middle of working on an image and everything disappears. I have sent in crash reports but have had no response. The last one yesterday comes up everytime I open Photoshop and when I try to close it the whole thing disappears. I am really fed up and very frustrated trying different things to solve the problem. Can anyone throw some light on the subject. I tried disabling the graphics card on the preferences screen but it made no difference I have just updated both Photoshop and Lightroom so I have the latest versions Thanks Angela

I have also switched to the internal graphics as opposed to the dedicated card but now I get a message every time telling me that I will not be able to use some filters as I don't have enough Ram but I have more than enough as it is a new laptop and I had more Ram installed as I work with images on the laptop usiing LR and PS. I still have the problem of crashing and am not able to use some filters. Is there an explanation I wonder. I have spoken to Adobe helpline who were very helpful and suggested using internal g raphics which worked for a while

The laptop has just had all of the diagnostic tests by the computer engineer/expert and all is ok. I took it back to where i bought it. It is a brand new laptop so should not be out of date. Would you recommend updating the drivers however?
