New Mackbook Pro and I'm getting crashes on both versions making it at the moment unusable. All I'm doing is clicking around menus and doing normal things and then it just shuts off and crashes. I'd have thought given the time since the release of Catalina along with the brand new release of 2020 that it would at least work in the most basic sense. Anyone else having the same problem? Am I going to have to keep using my old slow computer instead of my shiny new one simply because of this? 😞

Did a remote session with Adobe support. Turns out it was something in the mediacore plugin folder within the library prefs. Something in there was blocking the output somehow. Removed the folder, restarted Premiere and voila!

Those aren't clickable unfortunately. Just there as a visual to show which speaker is mapped to which side I think. Yeah, the firs thing I tried was exporting a wav file and then reimporting it back in as a separate sound file. No dice. Very, very VERY frustrating this. I switched from Final Cut many years ago cos apple screwed it up with an update. Something has clearly changed somewhere here as it shouldn't be this hard to get sound to work.

Comparing the two, the only difference is in the output mapping. After Effects has output mapping for "built-in-output" Premiere has output mapping for "adobe desktop audio". There isn't however an option for "built-in-output".

I've looked up everything I can find on the subject and the sound is just simply NOT working in Premiere. I've tried different headphones, every single possible setting I can change in Audio hardware, everything is set up properly. Open any other program on the computer and audio is completely fine, including After Effects. It's the same whether it's an mp4, .mov... so it's not a file-type issue. The bars on the timeline are going up and down to the waveform so there is sound there and it is "playing" but I can't hear it at all. Basically makes Premiere completely unusable. Can't edit if I can't hear it. I'm on a Macbook Pro on High Sierra.

Why is my colour readout listing numbers from 0 to 1 instead of 0 to 255. I need to be able to give the RGB values to my programmer on a different system and so I need the proper RGB values that all other systems use. Is there a toggle somewhere that I don't know about? Cheers

Absolutely that is a workaround, and is what I've already had to do. If however you use a curves effect or a brightness effect to try and achieve a similar result (upping the black levels of that layer) the layer underneath isn't affected in that strange way. To me it looks like a bug in the Levels effect, it simply shouldn't be effectively changing the levels of the layer below. It should be changing the levels of the layer it's on and only after that has been processed should the screen layer blend mode transfer the light areas onto the layer below. I would have submitted an actual bug report to Adobe but they seem to have changed the way that is done too. I click on the bug report link and it went to a broken webpage.

But that doesn't sound right at all. Screen layers basically only apply the "light" areas of an image to the layer underneath right? I'm using the levels to adjust the top layer to refine the amount of dark and light which I would then expect for just the light areas to be projected onto the layer below. But what's happening is that by changing the levels on the top layer it's as if the levels (ie. the black point) is adjusting the layer underneath. This is what I would expect from an adjustment layer. Putting an effect onto a regular layer would surely apply the effects to the layer BEFORE then applying the blend mode? Levels Issue - YouTube Here is what is happening. EDIT: If I do the same with a curves instead of a levels it's fine so it's not a misunderstanding of the blend mode.

I have two layers. The top layer is a "screen" layer and I have a levels effect applied to it. When I adjust the black levels (the left-most pin on the graph) on the top layer it is affecting the values of the layer underneath as if it was an adjustment layer. That shouldn't be the way this works as it's only applied to the top layer. It makes it very hard to use the levels effect properly in this scenario.

Tricky to explain, but hopefully clear enough and would be a huge workflow helper. I have one Master Comp with lots of little precomps layed out inside (think of a big bank of tv screens). Now the master comp is the layout and is where all the work happens and the info is transferred to the mini comps (wont go into that here), but basically the little comps are what each "TV" in this scenario sees. Now I need to render out each little TV separately for use. Is there ANY way for me not to have to open up each precomp and add it to the render cue every single time I want to change something on the master comp? ie. Is there something that will allow me to add all of the precomps to the render cue in one go? Creating a preset of some kind? I don't see an option in the project manager for adding a composition to the render cue from there, otherwise I could have selected them all and added them all in from there in one go? Any ideas? There is still a bug with clicking through layers in a composition though. It seems to be only when I am using my graphics tablet though. If I quickly single-click down through layers in a composition After Effects for some reason treats quickly clicking the next layer down as double-clicking the previous layer causing it to open. A bit frustrating when quickly trying to navigate through a project. Does anyone else have this problem while using a wacom tablet? (and yes I have the most up to date drivers)

How do I go about clamping a wiggle expression? I am using the mosaic effect with a wiggle expression on it. The only thing is that I never want the number to become 1, only 2 or higher as with 1 the mosaic effect make vertical lines that I don't want. Cheers

Still doesn't fix the fact that the mp3 files in my project won't collect and so stops the collection process making archiving my project unusable. Anyone else had any problems with mp3's? I'm going to try converting all the mp3's into .wavs and see if that helps. Stupid though. If After Effects can use the file it should be able to collect it!
