I've only looked at the top section under Apps. Now I see it in Background Processes. I closed them there and now I'm fine. Thank you! -- *"Your level of belonging will never exceed the level of courage you have to stand alone" - Brene Brown*

I've been using Photoshop for a few years. Windows 10. Today it won't open. It won't open from CC either. I've tried some of the fixes I've googled. Then tried to uninstall, so I could reinstall. It's telling me I have to close the app. I can't see anywhere where it shows it's open.

I've created a sewing pattern file in Illustrator. I'm testing the printing. The display on my computer is correct, but it won't print correctly. The corner markers are off, the actual image has shrunk, no matter what I choose. What am I doing wrong?

I started this project in excel, thinking I could import them. I can, but not as sharp looking. I'm open to any suggestions. I am almost done with all 8. I'm just trying to perfect them.

Thanks. I forgot about that option. It doesn't work for entire columns where I have line segments, so I have to select just the text objects that are between these.

At first, the smart grids were a hindrance. When I got up close, it worked a lot better. I think this will help. I was hoping that there was a way to select an entire row or column and center them all at once. But, I'll get it done this way. Thanks.

23.0.1 I made my main rectangle. Object> Path > Split into grid Designated the number of rows and columns. I did all the text objects singularly, trying to move them into place. I created the graph in Excel first, made a jpg and placed it on the page to follow along. Love to know it there's a simpler way to achieve the same end result. Not sure how to share the file right now. I'll figure it out.

I've created a grid to design a knitting pattern. Using text "*" and "o" designating knits and purls. Is there an easy way to get the text items centered within each box in the grid so it's very precise and neat?

Thank you all for your replies. Nothing seems to work. I want to insert a clear photo into a blog post. Saving as HTML inserts a link. All other methods end up with a blurry picture. I tried PS, AI, Paint - savings in different formats. I guess it's really not necessary, but it certainly would look better.

What file format would make the sharpest image of a screenshot of a spreadsheet? I want to insert it into a blog post. I've only tried a JPG, and it looks blurry.

I would like to use a pattern in the library for a dress design. I want something that's muted in color and small in detail. How do I make a pattern from the library smaller? Or is there a way to take something from the Basic Graphics/Textures and give it a soft background color - something other than white and that will be opaque?

Hi. I'm using Patternmaker Grading Studio. I paid around $1200 You can download a fully functioning trial. There is also PatternMaster, which is a completely different program. Easier, but a bit more expensive, maybe $2400. Then there is Gerber, which will run $8,000 ++++

Thank you so much. It had occurred to me after I posted that I could do it on a different layer. But this way is better and I learned something new. Again!

I am trying to do some fashion illustration. I have drawn my outline shape of a dress and filled it with a pattern. Now I want to draw the seams, neckline, etc. within the filled shape. I simply want the lines to intersect with the outlined shape. Every time I start, it wants to grab an anchor. I see there is an intersect command under pathfinder, but it asks me to select 2 paths and I can't figure out how to do that, or if that's the correct thing for me to do.

I have created a sewing pattern file in Illustrator with the intention of selling the pdf file as a download. It is 291 MB. It has 47 letter-size pages. The first 3 pages, the instructions, have jpg images on them. The following pages have line drawing with 8 layers, each layer a different size. It's getting to the point where it looks great when I open it in Reader. I'm trying to figure out how to share this file. I've tried a few services, including right from reader, using Send & Track. Everything I try eventually says the file is too large. Is there something in Ai that I should be doing to prepare this file for what I'm trying to do?

Thank you Mark, I really appreciate your time and effort. Your answer came after I figured it out, but you gave a very clear answer - what I look for in forums of this type.

I did it! As a novice, having the beginning steps laid out would have been helpful. It all came down to choosing "place" and not open, which I got from a youtube video, and realizing that the layers worked together across all pages , not a layer for each page. IMHO, not bad for only a few days in.

I am trying to create a sewing pattern that can be open in Reader with sizes on different layers. I can create an individual page with layers exactly the way I want it. I can get 5 blank artboards on my screen. I want to get the line drawings that I am drawing over into each corresponding page. I'm trying to merge the 5 individual pages into one file and I'd like to do that in Ai, if possible. Of course the picture above is a quick jpg that I threw together as a collage and has nothing to do with Ai. Yes, I am a beginner. I've only been working in it for about 3 or 4 days. I think I'm doing fairly well. And, yes, I'd like a little fast track help. I've appreciated all of it!

Thanks. Please bear in mind that I'm a beginner. I can get 5 artboards. I want to be able to bring my drawings that I am tracing over into each individual artboard, like the picture I have in my post. I can't seem to do that. If you look at my post and number the pages 1 thru 5, how do I get the line drawing show above (say page 2) on the 2nd artboard, and so on?

I have a 5-page pdf document. 4 pages will need layers that can be turned on or off in Reader. Each page seems to be doing what I want, however, when I open the5-page document in Reader, only the last page works in layers. I'm reading other discussions in the forum about this, but there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer, or it seems like it can't be done. However these questions and answers were posted several years ago. This is a very rough idea of what I'm trying to accomplish and not a finished product. Ran these mock-ups quickly, simply to see what program will accomplish my desired end result.

I know it can't be done with Reader. What I'll be doing eventually is read by Reader. I'm looking for a definitive answer so I don't have to work myself through trials of every Adobe program. InDesign might be the next one! Thank you for your answer.
