Camera Raw 18.7 is Here: Faster Culling, Smarter Exposure Matching, and More!

Camera Raw v18.7 brings a range of workflow enhancements and quality improvements designed to help you move through your editing process more efficiently. From faster photo browsing and more consistent exposure across images to greater workspace flexibility, refined editing results, and expanded camera and lens support, this update focuses on making everyday photo editing smoother and more intuitive.

 

What’s New

The September 2026 release of Adobe Camera Raw brings new ways to speed up photo selection, create consistency across large shoots, and refine your editing workspace. The new Grid view makes it easier to browse and compare large groups of photos in a thumbnail-based layout, helping you quickly identify your best shots, apply ratings, and select multiple images at once. For photographers working with batches of images, Match Exposure can now automatically normalize exposure using capture metadata, with an advanced option that also compensates for changes in light conditions across a sequence. This release also introduces a floating Histogram and Vectorscope panel for a more flexible editing experience, improved Reflection Removal for cleaner results on glass, water, and reflective surfaces, and expanded support for new cameras and lenses from leading manufacturers.

    Why have you changed the “sort by” option? My workflow used to involve importing a number of images into ACR, editing the ones I liked, right-clicking in the thumbnail bar and selecting to only show the starred images. Now I appear to only have “sort by” which just puts all the images into a different order. This means I have to click through until I get to the final starred image and select all above it, rather than just being able to “select all”. This seems like a really counterintuitive move in the design.

    With version 18.7, several long-established shortcuts changed: the Radial Filter moved from J to R, and the Linear Gradient from G to L, while G now opens the new Grid view. After years of muscle memory, this breaks workflows, especially for those of us culling and editing large shoots under time pressure.

    New features are welcome, but changing existing shortcuts without warning isn't. Please add an option to customize keyboard shortcuts in Camera Raw, as Photoshop and Lightroom Classic offer, so we can restore our familiar setup or adapt it to our needs.

      As a quick fix you can use AutoHotkey to map the keys in ACR only.

      I hope next version can fix the bug about Vlog color inaccuration of Lumix S1M2 and other Lumix cameras in the ACR and LR.

      one PC two OS, two different PS ver, and same results!
      ACR from ver 18.5 18.6 18.7 stop working! it just not open...
      install today new 18.7 nothing change, uninstall and back on 18.4.1 the last ver that works.

      win10 PS2019+ACR18.7
      win11 PS2027+ACR18.7

      i also cant make post for bug-report, because your forum is broken too! it shows just white screen after set topic title…..it cant load some css/js...and it not on my side, i try 4 browsers and 2 OS….

      Why does Adobe suddenly change established shortcuts after years?

      The Radial Filter used to be on J for years, and now it has suddenly been changed to R. What is the point of changing something like this?

      I use hundreds of radial filters every single day, and of course I press the shortcut completely automatically without even thinking about it. That is exactly what shortcuts are supposed to be for. Changes like this unnecessarily destroy a workflow that has been built up over years.

      If you really feel the need to change long-established shortcuts, then at least finally add the option to customize shortcuts in Camera Raw.

      Please stop changing established workflows for no real reason. For people who use Camera Raw professionally every day, this is incredibly frustrating. 😡

        And instead of adding something actually useful for photographers — like HSL controls for masks — Adobe keeps filling Camera Raw with more and more AI features that, in my experience, often don’t even work reliably.

        If I want AI to generate or heavily alter an image, I can use Gemini, ChatGPT, or one of the countless dedicated AI tools available now.

        Camera Raw should primarily be a tool for photographers who want to edit their own photographs, not another interface overloaded with features for creating fake or AI-generated imagery.

        Please focus again on improving the actual photographic workflow: better masking controls, more precise local adjustments, customizable shortcuts, and features photographers have been asking for for years.

          And while we’re at it, please also fix the crop tool.

          Even when 16:9 is already selected as the crop ratio, Camera Raw very often still opens the Custom Aspect Ratio dialog and asks me to enter the ratio manually again.

          If 16:9 is selected, it should simply crop at 16:9. There is no reason to interrupt the workflow with another dialog asking for values that are already defined.

          This is exactly the kind of basic workflow issue that should be fixed before adding even more AI features.
