12.1.3 Random Crashes

Hello everyone,

Thanks to your reports, we unfortunately confirm our latest release (12.1.3) has an encoding issue with Windows, resulting with random crashes.

Hopefully, we’ve already localized the problem and are actively working on a solution that should be released fairly quickly.

That said, if you can’t afford to wait for the bugfix, you can also rollback to a previous Painter version.

Hi. Not sure if I’m allowed to reply to News posts, but have people reported any of these crashes linked to pressing the Tab key? Because there’s one crash I keep getting with 12.1.2 and 12.1.3 where, if I press the Tab key, it’ll hide the UI like it should, but if I press it again, the program crashes.

I have this problem as well, starting with version 12.1.3, but the problem remains with version 12.1.4. Neither a clean reinstall of the program, nor a reset of the interface settings, nor launching in safe mode, nothing help. At first I thought that I was the only one with the problem, but apparently that's not the case.
