I have updated the illustrator to version 30.0 and started working on a project. After completeting the design I tried to save the file. It asked to create a project which I i did and it allowed to save the file on the cloud. While the saving was in progress, Illustrator crashed and gave that window to report error which I submitted. When I opned the illustrator again it opened fresh without opening previous file. When Checked the cloud under the my project folder not file is found and the folder is empty. I lost my all work of 3 hours. Is there anyway to recover the file ?

It’s really disappointing to get a new issue after every update — to be honest, it’s getting quite frustrating. In the previous update, everything seemed fine, but in this new one, I’ve encountered another small problem that becomes very annoying during work.

As for my specific issue — it can only be demonstrated on video (which I’ll attach). I haven’t seen anyone mention it yet, so I hope I’m not the only one experiencing this.

I’m working on a MacBook Pro and using the original trackpad, without any external mouse. For moving and dragging objects, I use the “three-finger drag” feature. Until this update, it worked perfectly fine, but now, when I drag an object and release it, it doesn’t stay in place immediately — instead, it makes a small movement (a slight jump) in the direction where I move the pointer right after releasing the object.

Interestingly, this exact issue has always existed in Photoshop when using three-finger drag, but it never really bothered me there since I only do small mockup adjustments in Photoshop. My main workspace, however, is Illustrator.

    Hello @Андрій5C51,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Could you check if this problem persists when running Illustrator under a different administrator account (macOS) and after rebooting your computer in Safe Mode (macOS), so we can investigate this further?

Also, try adjusting the Pointer Control settings (https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/unac899/mac) and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hello @Anubhav M

I have tried all of these methods.

Unfortunately, I don’t have another administrator account, but regarding the other steps you suggested — I tried all of them, and nothing helped.
I also tried changing the pointer settings, of course, but that didn’t help either. Besides, other pointer configurations are not comfortable for me, and I would prefer to keep the settings I originally chose.

It’s also important to note that the macOS update is not the cause of this issue (I’m currently on the latest macOS version 26.1). I used Illustrator version 29.8.3 on this same system, and the problem did not exist there. It appeared only after updating Illustrator to version 30.0.

When I switch back to Illustrator 29.8.3, the issue disappears.

I really miss the feature where you could select artboards with the selection tool by just clicking the name of the artboard. Now I have to switch to the artboard tool to quickly move or resize an artboard.

For moving or resizing an artboard, you always had to use the artboard tool

There is a limited amount of space to display items in the Control panel.

Having incredibly annoying lag every time I pan around a canvas or zoom in and out. Making workflow FRUSTRATING to say the least. Never had this issue before.

I'm experiencing some lag issues. Win11, 32MB RAM, NVidia A2000. Simple zoom in a couple of time with the mouse wheel and have to wait 5 seconds for it to catch up.

There are problems with masked images with this new update. The image is not visible and makes my work really difficult. Somethimes the images appears if I clicked inside of clipping mask but soon it disappears too. Sometimes images are visible and sometimes not. The masked image is inside of clipping mask.

Please don't launch so miserables updates.

So frustrated this morning with the software glitches in ID and AI. I have text within my graphics and it's not visible. I can clearly see it in the layers panel and yesterday, when I created the file and exported a jpg, they were there. Now they're gone (but not gone).

Has anyone experienced the font substitution issue with this version? Are there any other problems that people are noticing? Updating to a new version of Illustrator has been fraught with peril in the last year. I just can't afford another fiasco impacting our business. I'm looking forward to any reports from souls braver than I.

    Hi @jodyradzik17160276,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your concern. So far, there haven't been any widespread reports of font substitution or similar issues in version 30.0.

If you'd like to test the new version safely, you can keep your current one installed and add v30.0 alongside it. Just open the Creative Cloud Desktop App, go to Apps > Illustrator > More actions (three dots) > Other versions, and select Install 30.0. This will let you compare both versions without affecting your existing setup.

Once you've had a chance to try it, please share your observations, so I can assist you further.

    Looking forward to your update.

I've taken your advice and installed the new version alongside the version I could trust. I'm happy to report that the font substitution no longer appears to occur. Also, noting that the third-party plug-ins I rely on seem to be working as well. I'll keep using this new version until something fails. I hope that doesn't happen, but recent history suggests that it probably will. Fingers are crossed I'm wrong about that.
