Hi, I remember there was an option under Preferences > Units that allowed you to add more decimal places to the units displayed under Transform. However, I think it may have been moved or removed entirely. It seems like the maximum is four decimal places, at least based on what I’m seeing. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Without any noticeable reason, typing Polish letters (Right Alt + a/e/c/o/l/n/s/z) in Type tool text editing mode has stopped working.THIS IS NOT A SYSTEM KEYBOARD LAYOUT ISSUE.I am able to type Polish letters in several Illustrator input fields (e.g., Search), but it does not work when using the Type tool. When I try to type Polish letters while editing text with the Type tool, different options/shortcuts are triggered instead.This happened to me once a few years ago, and now I’m experiencing it again. The problem has clearly existed for a long time, and as far as I can see, there is still no fix. In my case, resetting preferences and even reinstalling Illustrator did not help. It seems like the Adobe team does not care.

Windows platform, I haven't had any problems until a few days ago, when I launch Illustrator or Photoshop, they freeze. I can't do anything. Even "control-alt-delete" freezes. I have to force shutdown.  I am still on Windows 10, and have updated as much as I have been allowed considering the change.  ? ? ? Not sure if it's a software/adobe issue, or computer.  Thanks in advance. 

Attempting to use the Concept to Vector feature resulted it nothing happening, then an error. total spend: 120 credits, which i need, which are gone, but the generation didn’t work. Please restore my credits, and perhaps create a better credit system or refund process. Previously the feature has worked remarkably well! 

anytime i open an AI file now al these temp files appear....in all my years of illustrator never seen this.  yes they normally disappear but why are they even showing? they get left over too if theres a crash which i get but why are they appearing where the AI file lives now?  id assume this was happening in library in the past.....  

When working with the Wacom pen in Illustrator, the vertical scroll bar often ‘hooks onto the pen’ and can no longer be left. You can only scroll.   You then have to try to quit the programme somehow, after a restart the work works again for a short time.   The problem is known: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/side-scroll-bar-not-stopping-when-supposed-to/m-p/14103647 As a solution, it was suggested to deactivate ‘Wacom’ in ‘Preferences’ under ‘Devices’. I have a file that is up to 9 art boards now and lots of images so is quite large. I am trying to export it as a PDF as I need to submit it somewhere and that is the only form they take. Now I know I can compress the file once it has exported, but it is failing to export, I’ve tried doing it in pieces a few art boards at a time and even that’s not working. An help would be much appreciated, thank you!

I've experienced this twice now, both times in the last month. I design beer labels and I'll often open an older label and use it as the template for a new one. When I open the older file (an .AI file), it will load, and most of the live text will have switched to a different font arbitrarily. Some fonts switch to OTHER typefaces that exist in the same document, others switch to different weights of the same font, and still others switch to defaults like times and myriad.  Some of the switched fonts are stored locally, and others are served via Adobe Fonts. The file does this consistently even after I've restarted illustrator and restarted my computer.    I've attached a screenshot of one of the files with its original fonts (from an outlined version for print), as well as a shot with the changed fonts.   Has anyone else experienced this?   System: 2022 Mac Studio M1 Max MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1 Illustrator v 29.5.1

Hi everyone,I've been wondering how other people organize their Illustrator files, especially when a design has lots of layers, shapes, and different elements.As a project gets more detailed, it can become harder to find specific objects and make changes without affecting something else. I know layers and groups help, but I'm curious about how experienced users keep everything manageable.Do you organize your layers by object type, design section, or something else? Hi everyone,Am I the only one encountering this problem?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hFwapaR7aoAs you can see in the video, my contextual taskbar keeps flickering/shaking endlessly, and I also get visual artifacts on the sides when zooming in and out.I tried disabling GPU Performance, which gets rid of the artifacts on the sides, but the contextual taskbar keeps shaking anyway.For context, here is my setup: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 4600G GPU: XFX Radeon RX 6650 XT MERC 308 I also tested this on another PC (also running an AMD setup) and got the exact same issue... I guess I can't be the only one, right? That being said, it's been happening for at least 3 years now...Any ideas or workarounds? Thanks!

missing embeded image

I've got a group of paths which make up a logo.  I've got an image I made where this logo is part of the background, but it hangs off the edge of the artboard (only half of it is meant to be visible).  In order for exports to actually be sized to the artboard, and because I couldn't find a way to crop the group of paths to fit the artboard, I've had to add a clipping mask. Is there a way I can use the clipping mask to make the crop "permanent", and actually remove the parts of the paths that are outside the artboard, so that I can just remove the mask from the layers?  Or is there some other method to actually crop this object to the artboard? 

I have a Mac M1 Pro with 32GB Ram and 1 TB SSD (300 GB available) and Tahoe 26.5. When I open Illustrator and Photoshop at the same time, the CPU ramps up almost to the max and the fans turn on. Working in either apps becomes very sluggish and unresponsive, even with small and simple files. When I pair Photoshop with any other Adobe app, the problem doesn’t occur, only in combination with Illustrator. So the latter seems to be the culprit. This is very frustrating, because I need to keep several apps open for my kind of projects. Can anyone help me here please?

I used the new concept to vector feature with a lot of success yesterday morning but after an hour so of playing around, I am now getting an error message stating: Please slow down and try again later. I have tried signing out of the creative cloud suite and updating Illustrator. I am unable to get to the tool to work for the tutorial that is on the start screen featuring the rocket and sketched head images. I also still have plenty of credits. Is there anything else I can do? I was hoping to use to vectorize my final background design for a menu. Thank you!

AIHostAdapter.aip is a plugin that captures events such as “when the selection has changed” in Illustrator’s CEP. It is reportedly included as a standard feature starting with version 30.3.Since this plugin can capture events that occur before a menu command is executed, if it can cancel the command using `preventDefault` or similar methods, it should be possible to prevent situations such as a user accidentally trying to overwrite an opened .ai document as a non-editable .pdf.How can `preventDefault` be implemented? If such functionality is implemented in the plugin, it should be possible to achieve this by notifying the plugin via `CSEvent` in `CSInterface`. Or is it impossible to stop the action once a `Notifier` has been issued, due to the SDK’s specifications?

How do I hide the display of Noto fonts in the font list? There are soooo many Noto fonts that show up in Illustrator when previewing fonts in font list. I realize these fonts are needed for system reasons, and that's fine. I just don't need to see them everytime I scroll through my fonts in Illustrator. Please let me know how I can hide these from view in the Illustrator font menu. Thanks.

I have a layer in my design that is behaving exactly how I would like.  Unfortunately I cannot seem to figure out how I got it to behave that way or how to replicate the behavior on other layers.  I have a layer with positive and negative space.  For the first example below, I filled all the positive space with black.  I would like all the positive (black) to transparently show the image/design below and for all the negative to block it.  I can create a mask or clip to do this to one specific image, but I would like ANY image /design to show through in the area that is black now so that I can move around images below and play with composition…  Again, I got this to work on one layer,  I just cant figure out how… 

Hello,I am a beginner. I don't know what it's called, but I can describe it.I have a Brother CM300 cutting machine and it needs SVG files to cut.I created an SVG file from a photo.The problem is that the machine cut around the thick lines.I can only see the blue middle box when I hover the mouse over it.I need those blue lines because they were cut once.How can I turn everything into a blue line and make the blue lines visible?

I am aware that this has been asked before, but I have not found an adequate answer.I have always disliked the methods used by Illustrator for pan and zoom functions. I have been using a program called X-Mouse Button Control to remap the functions of the mouse wheel and middle click to pan and zoom operations. For panning, this works well: Middle click to pan. In X-Mouse, the middle click is replaced with a macro that will hold the space key, and simulate a click/hold of the left mouse button. This allows panning in a way that is similar to many other programs I use daily.The zoom, however, is a bit more difficult. By remapping the mouse-wheel-up/mouse-wheel-down to include holding the 'alt' key, I can zoom in and out. The issue appears when I hover over the Transform dimensions and/or position of an object. Since the 'alt' key is held, it copies the selected object at each click of the wheel. While this can make for some very interesting geometric designs, it is no quite what I'm afte

i tried organising my files into a new folder, and renamed the folder, (yes im stupid) but i thought by closing illustrator before hand that i could then reopen the file direct in the new location. this didnt work it said file is corrupted and only is one layer (thte top layer). Hours of work disappeared in a small mistake. No live chat or telephone help from Adobe? Ive paid them thousands of pounds over th elast ten years. help

Last month I paid for a year’s subscription to Illustrator. I have proof of the card charge and I have been using the Illustrator app consistently since then. Today a notification popped up asking me to start a free trial or buy a subscription. I now cannot access the app without selecting one of these options. I tried customer support but they said there is no account matching my email or card info. I have tried logging out and back in, updating the app, and re-entering my card but nothing has worked. Any insight would be so appreciated!!
