    This is an example of the bug in my AI 29.5.1: After re-opening an .ai file, the picture positions are messed-up.

    There were some mentions lately about moving images, some were solved in beta.

    Are your images Placed or Dragged, Linked or Embedded?

    I have encountered a weir bug in 29.5.1: Placed pictures get scrambled around the document after saving and re-opening it.

    Been having the same AI freak-out issues mentioned previously. Here are some recordings of the experiences:

    I see I'm not the only one having this repeated issue. I'm CDing multiple projects right now and literally cannot do my job. This is incredibly frustrating and stressful. 

     

    This happens across multiple different files. 

    My machine is about 6 months old and fully suped up. 48 GB memory, running on Sequioa 15.4.1 (24E263), 100GB space left on HD. 

     

    Other recent issues include randomly not being able to preview or completely corrupting raster-based files, both embedded and linked.

    Hello @gystdesign,

    That does seem frustrating. Would you mind trying the following steps and checking if they help:

    - Close all Adobe applications.

    - Rename the UXP folder to UXP.old from the following location:

    (Windows) Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\UXP

    (macOS) Navigate to Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP

     

    - Relaunch Illustrator

     

    If the problem persists, kindly try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (macOS) and under Safe Mode (macOS) and share your observations.

    I'm encountering a bug with version 29 onwards, including 29.5, where Adobe fonts don't load correctly and they fallback to regular fonts.

    If I roll back to a version before 29, everything works again.

    Update:  29.5 and 29.5.1 have this issue, previous versions seem ok

    Hello @15m20,

    Would you mind trying the following steps and checking if it helps:

    • Close all Adobe applications
    • Remove the Creative Cloud Desktop application, CCLibrary, and CoreSync using the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool (https://adobe.ly/4mKxQHS)
    • Reinstall the Creative Cloud Desktop application (https://adobe.ly/3HEEL5b)
    • Relaunch Illustrator

    Recently installed the latest AI on my new laptop (so factory AI preferences, plenty of storage) and it freezes every few minutes. This has been happening all week.

     

    Is Illustrator having performance issues?

    Should I go back to an older version?

    Is is somehow not compatible with my laptop setting?

    Installed Ram: 32.0 GB (31.5 GB usable)

    Since upgrading to 29.5 (on my Mac OS 15.4.1), my vector shapes are getting distorted in completely unusable ways.

     

    When I use the pathfinder to merge shapes and then round the corners, it shifts around the other points of my shape in undesirable ways. Then when I save my file as an SVG, close it, and reopen it, the shapes get distorted and totally mangled. This totally kills my workflow and makes this software unusable.

     

    This is P0 and should've been a launch blocker. Please fix immediately!

    This happens only after saving an SVG?

     

    First of all: SVG should never be used for work files.

    Secondly: enter a higher number in "Decimals" when saving.

    The distorted shapes only happen when saving as SVG. Thanks for the "Decimals" tip. That made a big difference!

     

    But the shifting points is happening every time I try rounding corners, as soon as I grab the corner handle or type a value and hit enter.

     

    Not sure what you mean that SVG should never be used for work files, can you elaborate? I use SVG to export vectors to my vinyl cutter and everything has worked fine for the past 10 years.

    Illustrator has been repeatedly crashing on launch, and then every two minutes, regardless of whether I even have a document open, ever since this update. I have 442 GB of memory, 32 GB RAM, my GPU drivers are updated, I have uninstalled and reinstalled, including with the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, reset my preferences, reset my app preferences, my laptop has been restarted repeatedly, mostly out of necessity, since it crashes and freezes my screen over and over again, and it continues to display "Not Responding" and crash repeatedly from launching. It is currently effectively unusable and frankly unbearable. I can see on another forum I am on that other people are having this issue, but not see it mentioned anywhere here?

    Hi I've actually done all of the suggested items at least a couple of times
    each. I've also submitted the crash report a number of times now because it
    has come up during multiple crashes over the past week.

    Could you tell me what I need to do to completely disconnect my Adobe
    account from the internet please?

    I have just found out the phonelines here have been cut here, by copper
    thieves, since at least Tuesday, although I don't know if they are
    affecting this issue, or by how much if they are, but I would like to make
    sure, so I'd like to check my Illustrator etc is working completely offline
    and not being affected by this if possible.

    I don't know if others are seeing this but after upgrading to 29.5 when I go to access the dev console in the browser for debugging extensions it just loads a blank page. Continued to do it after a fresh install but works fine when I rolled back to 29.4.

    OS: Windows 11 

    Browser: Both Chrome and Firefox

    The workflow is open illustrator, open the plugin using Window > Extension > "The Extension", Open browser, then go to local host and port in the .debug file. When you go to the localhost and port you should see a list of extension that are set to that port and be able to click the link and it takes you to that dev console to debug the extension but it's just blank. It won't let me attache a zip or the debug file so here is the simple code in the debug:

    Shame that my smoother experience is a spinning ball and having to force quit the app repeatedly.

    Have to go back to a previous version - I have a job to do besides Adobe's never-ending UI flux experience.

    Thanks for flagging this. I’m really sorry you’re running into the spinning ball issue. Could you please let us know the macOS details you’re working on? Also, does the spinning ball occur as soon as you launch Illustrator, while opening a file, or during a specific action like applying an effect or navigating menus? The more details you can share about when it happens, the better we can pinpoint the cause and assist you further.

    I’m experiencing a persistent issue with Adobe Illustrator on my MacBook Pro. Every time I try to launch Illustrator (both Public and Beta versions), the app becomes “Not Responding” and gets stuck at the homepage. Details of the issue: Affected app: Adobe Illustrator (Public & Beta) Problem: Always stuck at launch (“Not Responding”) Other Adobe apps: Working fine (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.) System: macOS Tahoe 26 (Developer Beta), MacBook Pro Steps tried: Multiple uninstall/reinstall attempts, clearing preferences, but issue persists. Problem is now worse, as the app sometimes won’t launch at all. I am unsure if this is an incompatibility between Illustrator and macOS Tahoe 26 Developer Beta, or if it’s related to my system. Kindly advise if this is a known issue and whether there are any workarounds or upcoming updates to address this. Thank you for your assistance.
