Release Notes - September 2026
This month's update expands access for Freemium users, including a new Start a Free Trial option directly in the toolbar, and rolls Enhance Edge object selection out to more Beta participants with added support for Smart Objects. A broad set of stability and workflow fixes have also been resolved across Generative AI, printing, and performance.
New Features & Updates
Membership & Access
- Freemium users can now access the AI Assisted and Pro Editor workspaces, with a new Start a Free Trial option available directly in the toolbar.
Generative AI
- Enhance Edge object selection is now available to more Beta users, including support on Smart Objects.
- Added credit quota warnings at 90% and 70% usage so you know when you're approaching your limit.
Tools & Interface
- Added an overflow menu for the Object Selection and Firefly Workspace toolbars so controls stay accessible when the window is narrow.
- Added an up/down squeegee comparison option in Quick Compare.
Filters & Adjustments
- Added on-canvas controls for the Light Leaks filter.
- Added area-wise averaging for Temperature and Tint in the Color Balance and Vibrance adjustments.
Preferences
- Added a preference to enable or disable WinTab support on Windows.
Bug Fixes
Crashes
- Resolved multiple crashes, including issues related to brushing on Windows and Mac, and a program error that occurred when rotating objects with the harmonize option.
Membership & Access
- Fixed several issues preventing the Start a Free Trial prompt from appearing or responding correctly on first launch, and an issue preventing the Notifications panel from opening on Windows.
Generative AI
- Fixed Firefly image generation not deducting credits correctly and showing a confusing network error message in some cases.
- Fixed Enhance Edge showing an incorrect warning message instead of the restriction warning when the display language is set to Chinese.
Other Fixes
- Fixed the Brightness control in Sky Replacement not responding.
- Fixed a PDF printing issue affecting certain HP printers, and the Print dialog becoming unresponsive when switching orientation.
- Fixed images taking significantly longer to open and save.
- Fixed the Move tool not responding to on-canvas input, and the Actions panel recording an unplayable step after opening a file through the UI.
- Fixed the AI Assistant losing context when the active document changed, and the Light Leaks filter causing a flickering preview.
