The power of Acrobat, right in WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop.

Big news for anyone who lives in their chats: Adobe and WhatsApp have teamed up to bring Acrobat-powered PDF experiences directly into WhatsApp Web and Windows. That means you can now open, review, and act on documents shared in a chat, without downloading a single file or switching apps.

🔍 Open/View: Go from PDF review to feedback in seconds

  • PDFs now open instantly, right inside your WhatsApp conversation.

  • Full-screen viewing works even for password-protected files and stays secure.

  • Highlight, underline, strike through, and draw directly on the doc, no download needed.

  • Share 1:1 or in groups right in the thread.

✏️ Edit/Share: Edit and share PDFs without missing a beat

Need to make bigger changes? Just launch Acrobat's full toolkit right from the chat and keep your workflow moving without any extra steps.

  • Jump into Acrobat from WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp Desktop to edit, organize, add password protection, and more.
  • When you're done, send the updated file straight back into the same WhatsApp chat so everyone's working off the latest version.

🔒 Secure: Built-in PDF security for every shared file

  • Documents render exactly as intended, preserving your layout and formatting.

  • Files shared in chat stay end-to-end encrypted, just like any other WhatsApp message.

  • Password-protected PDFs remain locked down to only the intended recipients.

Now available globally

This rollout is live today on WhatsApp Web and Windows, everywhere WhatsApp is available.

💬 We want to hear from you! Have you tried opening or editing a PDF in WhatsApp yet? What workflows do you think this will speed up: invoices, contracts, school forms, travel itineraries? Drop your first impressions, questions, or feature requests in the comments below.

This is such a game changer, especially for those of us who find ourselves working from our phones and switching apps constantly!

Okay this is a REALLY cool update. It’s going to make sharing documents between my team members way easier, especially when I’m traveling!

This is a really useful integration, especially for quickly reviewing and marking up PDFs without having to download them first. The ability to jump into Acrobat for more advanced editing and then send the updated PDF back into the same WhatsApp chat should make document workflows much smoother. I’m particularly interested in how well this works with larger PDFs and password-protected documents.

interesting update! I’m looking forward to trying it out. Does acrobat app need to be downloaded on mobile or is this automatically available?

Ohh! I’m excited about this. A lot of my work lately has been with some team members who are overseas so we communicate through WhatsApp a lot. This is going to make sharing documents back and forth a lot easier! Can’t wait to try it.

This is honestly a pretty handy update. Being able to open, mark up, or edit a PDF right inside WhatsApp saves the hassle of jumping between apps. I’d be curious to see how the privacy and permissions work behind the scenes, though—that feels just as important as the convenience.

This is a really useful integration, especially for people who regularly handle documents through WhatsApp. Being able to review, annotate, and share PDFs without constantly switching between apps should make everyday workflows much more efficient. I can see this being particularly helpful for quick approvals and feedback when working with clients or teams.

This integration looks very practical. Having the ability to access and work with PDFs directly inside WhatsApp can save time and reduce unnecessary steps. It's especially useful for people who frequently exchange documents and need to provide quick feedback without interrupting their workflow.

Okay I love this because as much as I’d love for clients to talk to me only in Slack or email, I still have several clients who have Whatsapp as their preferred communication. Sometimes it is faster when they’re traveling and this way they won’t have to leave Whatsapp to open documents I send them.
