The power of Acrobat, right in WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop.

Big news for anyone who lives in their chats: Adobe and WhatsApp have teamed up to bring Acrobat-powered PDF experiences directly into WhatsApp Web and Windows. That means you can now open, review, and act on documents shared in a chat, without downloading a single file or switching apps.

🔍 Open/View: Go from PDF review to feedback in seconds

  • PDFs now open instantly, right inside your WhatsApp conversation.

  • Full-screen viewing works even for password-protected files and stays secure.

  • Highlight, underline, strike through, and draw directly on the doc, no download needed.

  • Share 1:1 or in groups right in the thread.

✏️ Edit/Share: Edit and share PDFs without missing a beat

Need to make bigger changes? Just launch Acrobat's full toolkit right from the chat and keep your workflow moving without any extra steps.

  • Jump into Acrobat from WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp Desktop to edit, organize, add password protection, and more.
  • When you're done, send the updated file straight back into the same WhatsApp chat so everyone's working off the latest version.

🔒 Secure: Built-in PDF security for every shared file

  • Documents render exactly as intended, preserving your layout and formatting.

  • Files shared in chat stay end-to-end encrypted, just like any other WhatsApp message.

  • Password-protected PDFs remain locked down to only the intended recipients.

Now available globally

This rollout is live today on WhatsApp Web and Windows, everywhere WhatsApp is available.

💬 We want to hear from you! Have you tried opening or editing a PDF in WhatsApp yet? What workflows do you think this will speed up: invoices, contracts, school forms, travel itineraries? Drop your first impressions, questions, or feature requests in the comments below.

It is going to be really useful in my day-to-day work. 😍 We share PDFs constantly in WhatsApp for quick reviews, approvals, and feedback, and having to download each file before opening or commenting always interrupts the flow.
Being able to view, annotate, and even jump into Acrobat for edits directly from the chat will save time and keep conversations focused.
I also like that updated documents can be shared back into the same thread, so everyone is always looking at the latest version instead of juggling multiple file versions.

This is a great productivity update. Being able to view, annotate, and securely share PDFs directly within WhatsApp without downloading files makes collaboration much smoother. The integration of Acrobat's editing tools while maintaining end-to-end encryption is particularly impressive for both personal and professional workflows.

It’s great to see Acrobat becoming available directly inside WhatsApp since it removes a lot of the back-and-forth when reviewing PDFs. Having document editing built into a chat can save time, especially for teams sharing schedules, guides, or event information. I’ve been organizing tournament schedules and updates in PDF format recently, and this resource may be useful for sports fans as well.

So… this is a surprisingly useful feature in my workflow. I have been really surprised at how many client conversations happen in WhatsApp and even more surprised when documents are sent through. Not having to download, open, edit will save me loads of time.

This is great! I always love getting more integrations that make it easier to collaborate with our team or community. It saves so much time to not have to download and re-upload in another app!

This looks like a really useful update. Opening and editing PDFs directly in WhatsApp Web will make everyday work much easier. It saves time, keeps everything in one place, and makes sharing updated documents much more convenient. Looking forward to trying it soon!

Useful update, but the “without ever leaving your chat” claim feels a bit exaggerated when major edits still require opening Acrobat. It’s also limited to Web and Windows, so mobile and Mac users are left out. I’d also like clearer details on privacy, file processing, and whether advanced features require a paid Acrobat plan.
