Adobe Express files crash, giving file recovery message

Adobe Express files crash, giving file recovery message whenever editing or viewing a video file.  I typically access the files through the browser.  The error message first states reovering file, then recovers file, the button says continue, and then happens repeatedly happening over and over again making using the tool next to impossible.  I can't effectivly edit or review a video.

I have the same issue on the mobile iPhone app. Now that I have paid for a subscription, it’s become unusable. Every time I add a scene to my YouTube short video and upload the small 5-10 second video clip it crashes and says recovering file. It used to reload the app afterwards and recover but now it just stays stuck on the recovering file message and I lose all work!

Hi ​@Ugnud - welcome to the Express community! Appreciate you adding your voice to this thread - would you mind checking what ​@OscDev mentioned? If you’ve got any kind of ID/errorID/uuid we would love that as it will help the team!

Also, what’s your iPhone device type/version of the Express app you’re on?

We would also appreciate a screen recording - that helps us see what you’re seeing.

sometimes the error message dialog provides you an id, error id, or uuid. If you can share that with us, it would be very helpful in debugging the issue

I have the exact same issue, did it get resolved, if yes, how? Because I tried whatever mahmoud_5524 said, I still have the same issue

We’re sorry you’re running into this issue. To help us investigate this quickly, could you please share the following via direct message:

  • The project link (with granted access)

  • The browser and version you’re using

  • A short screen recording showing the recovery loop

Once we have these details, we’ll forward them to our engineering team for further analysis. In the meantime, please try the following:

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies, then restart the browser.

  • Try opening the file in a different browser (Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge are recommended).

  • Make sure your browser and GPU drivers are fully updated.

  • If possible, download the file locally, then re-upload it to a new Express project — this can resolve file corruption loops.

  • Turn off hardware acceleration in your browser settings and try again.
